How would you know whether he was gay or straight? Are you going to refuse him service because he's possibly gay? Are you going to ask him about his sexual orientation? No. I'm not going to ask him his sexual orientation. I'm going to ask "what's the wedding cake for?" Orientation irrelevant, the *wedding type* IS. As long as I sell the wedding cake ignorantly its fine with my conscience. What if the person ordering it said, "it's none of your business; please just make the cake"?

But anyway, you haven't answered my point, which is that you're certainly advocating for treatment that you yourself wouldn't stnad for if it were directed at you. Judging from the amount of crying you've done in this one thread, you would howling like a coyote about the injustice of being denied service based on your faith. Unlike you, I'm committed to defending the rights of all Americans, not just those whose views or lifestyles comport with my own. That is tolerance. I would defend your right to receive equal treatment in any public accommodation, just as the law guarantees. Reread the 14th Amendment as I posted it, and tell me specifically how it applies to your desire to deny others goods or services based on their sexuality. Your insults land on empty air, given the fact that you don't know me. I don't care what you think of me. I'd rather you answer my questions without the insults, if you're capable of doing so -- but if you're not, that's cool, too. Watching you foam at the mouth is a cheap form of entertainment. Now, go read that Amendment, and tell me what you think. Oh, and I never did get a reply to this post: (July 23, 2015 at 10:16 am)rexbeccarox Wrote:You know what I'll say? "Look buddy, I don't care who you are, what race you are, or what your sexual orientation is. All I need to know is if that wedding type is a monogamic wedding between two opposite sexes. My conscience and next birth is at stake, so just fucking tell me, or leave." Quote:Except America has a colorful history where people were refused service. Hence, we have laws that if you own a public business, you cannot refuse service to anyone based on their race, religion, creed, etc. The question is only whether or not LGBT should be a protected class or not.I think it is a horrible thing (to be refused service because of race, etc.) but I'm only saying bigots should be allowed to expose their bigotry, it is best for all of us. Most countries have those anti-discrimination laws, and I agree with creating protected classes, but being one doesn't mean you get to demand that every economic trade, regardless of how small or insignificant it is, must be fulfilled just because you say so. If one of your rights is at stake I think service shouldn't be refused - Of course, if you enter a hospital people can't tell you that they won't heal you because you're gay, or black, or trans, etc. But if it's a service that is not fundamental for survival and you can get it pretty much anywhere else then I don't see why I should force economic transactions. I don't want people to think I'm condoning Christianity - I despise people discriminating because "religion says so" and I'd happily boycott a business owned by them, but I still need to be coherent and defend their right to bigots. When rights collide the stronger or most important one prevails - it seems to me that even if you hate religion, freedom of religion obviously beats the right to have a cake baked that you can request everywhere else.

Who gets to say what's really important and what isn't? Where is the line between wedding cakes and a hospital?
And if you let one person do it, you're letting everyone. That's the problem. I'm all for people who serve the public not being allowed to discriminate, whatever they do. I hope it remains to be the law. If you're too much of a cock to be able to deal with that, don't open a business to the public. This is my opinion on things. If there is a genuine reason not to serve the customer, that is different. Feel free to send me a private message.
