I think the process for these "investigations" has changed.  They now do a careful search to see if there is any video of the incident and, if not, pronounce the officer "cleared."

And the cops say:

Falcone was never charged in connection with the incident. The Daily News reported that, according to a police source, he spit in an officer’s face after being “confrontational and uncooperative” during the encounter.

But...sadly for them....

Falcone, who is gay, reportedly plans to file a federal lawsuit in connection with the June 19 incident, which was captured on camera from across the street. The footage shows four officers at Falcone’s door, before he is pulled outside and pulled to the ground.

But its Staten Island so I imagine the cops will get a pat on the back from their pal, the D.A.

Texas sheriff refuses to turn over jailhouse video after 32-year-old gay man dies of ‘natural causes’

The parents of Jacobs, who died in March, want an investigation into what happened in the jail, however the sheriff — on the advice of the Galveston County Attorney–  is refusing to turn over video fearing a lawsuit.

Sounds like a reasonable fear, sheriff.

Sometimes they say if you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't worry about police searching your car, or NSA listening to your phone calls. Same way with the sheriff. If there was nothing to hide, he wouldn't be refusing to show the tapes.

Apparently, in addition to gunning down unarmed minority drivers who have a missing license plate the other thing cops like to do is drive fast....no matter how many innocent people get killed.

Not so much.

Police across the USA chase tens of thousands of people each year -- usually for traffic violations or misdemeanors -- often causing drivers to speed away recklessly. Recent cases show the danger of the longstanding police practice of chasing minor offenders.
A 25-year-old New Jersey man was killed July 18 by a driver police chased for running a red light.
A 63-year-old Indianapolis grandmother was killed June 7 by a driver police chased four miles for shoplifting.
A 60-year-old federal worker was killed March 19 near Washington, D.C., by a driver police chased because his headlights were off.

Maybe we should have a poll.  Are these good cops or bad cops?  Yeah they stole and broke federal laws but they didn't kill anyone.

‘I can’t breathe': Man runs into jail lobby seeking help but dies after deputies pile on him instead

The 47-year-old man, who has not been identified yet, apparently parked his car at the county jail and ran in screaming that his wife was out to kill him. But instead of helping him, witnesses told WFAA that deputies took him to the ground and handcuffed him. One had his knee on the man’s neck.

So, yeah...if you kill the poor bastard that will definitely calm him down!

Indeed. I wonder if he's familiar with the term "obstruction of justice". Somone oughtta call the cops.

The family ought to lawyer up, file, and see how the sheriff and county attorney like the taste of subpoenas.
