If i move from x to x+1 and if you are in x looking at me then for you I've teleported to x+1.
If my current position is x then you teleported from x to x-1.

I see. But how exactly do you determine what's moving and what is at rest? What do you take as a reference? Earth?

You have to be more subtle while laying down traps.
Again,hard for me to translate the visual image into words,so i'll draw it yet again:


In both diagrams the two points have not moved with respect to each other.But they have moved with respect to the circle in the picture.I guess you could call the circle universe or everything else except the two points.

'Everything else' is hardly a reference point, because a whole lot of that 'everything else' is moving as well.....

What Neim said. Everything else is also apparently moving away from us (see Hubble), so how do you define who's at rest based on that?
