I am hopeful that our family will outlive it's mother planet.
As for how long Christians are willing to wait, well at least 2,000 years, that much I know for sure.

Hi Abaris, I remember listening to the family radio when the news about the crash of Buddy Holley and his friends came out.
Rock and roll was an abomination to my dad, It was baby music compared to the syncopated noise of today, transistor radios had come out, school was miserable, bully issues in school, hippies doing marijuana was spoke about never seen by us country kids.
Field cars, 20 cent gas, riding home made mini bikes at night. We rode to a drive-in and snuck in the back to see Rock around the clock (well, some of it anyway -probably an old flick then).
Onto girls and hot rods, My back was very messed up so Vietnam was by-passed.
The 70s came.
Grass was real expensive at 5 dollars (a nickel bag) - more than 2 hours pay at a good job.
Too expensive for me and real dangerous on my motorcycle ( a state of the art 1970 750 Honda which would run 13.3 at the drags).
In the 70s I began to question what I am doing here and where I am going.
I was married, good job, house, fast bike (fast at the time) new van (yeah- G-10 Chevy)
dealing with some back pain, but doing OK.
That question and the resolution of it is how I got where I am.
It was resolved radically in 1972.

Pity.
But it might do you some good to at least consider this.

The day Pat Robertson was born.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I have zero voices in my head or ears.
As I said, come Oct. 1st, if I am in this present body- I am gone from AF.
My hour glass will have all the grains dropped down.
I can take the abuse and suggestions. No problem.
Don't go. I like a laugh me.

Downbeat,
I also have had a lot of giggles here, but my term will be over by Oct first, if I am still in this present body.
That means the Rapture is a translation event, I think the children will come back at the 2nd Coming to live on into the Millennium Kingdom with normal bodies like we currently have.
But mature believers will be transformed into their final glorified (supernatural) bodies, just as Jesus now has.

I just had a brand new prophecy. This Monday, August 31, the Universe will cease to exist and will be replaced in the same instant by an exact copy, right down to the last quark. If everything looks exactly the same on Tuesday as it would have done ordinarily, you will know that I was right.

It's at times like this that I wish we still had the lira
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.
Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.
Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.
Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.
Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."
