You know, I never really thought about this point, before. We've commented before on the fact that they think that, despite our body remaining on earth and only our soul going to the afterlife, we're nevertheless going to receive a clone-body that can be tortured with fire and chains...
...but I just realized: they're contending that Hell has an entire ecosystem.

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. flesh eating worms entails there's flesh to be eaten. Therefore, you have a body in the afterlife.

Really? Is that what that means?
Maybe that's why I said "we're nevertheless going to receive a clone-body" ???
No, that can't be it.

It doesn't matter how God views your rejection. It doesn't effect Him whatsoever. I didn't lay my sins on Jesus. I had no part in the matter. It was all Him. He chose to come and die for my sins. Silly Daniel, This was plagiarized from the Holy Book of Pasta; It states clearly that in the giant pot of boiling torment there are flesh eating strains of forsaken noodles that resemble worms. This means you have a body to boil. I don't want you to boil Daniel, Let FSM into your harden heart.

I like your analogy... but I would note that, in this particular case, the "husband" didn't even commit suicide, just pretended to be dead for three days in order to get the insurance payment (since Jesus knew he was a god and couldn't really die), then left town so the wife could benefit.

It's ironic really because if the story were true Jesus was more of a "Judas" than Judas because he blamed Judas when the whole thing was a farce anyway. He knew he would come back and he wanted Judas to betray him. It was all part of his fucking plan to be a confusing deceptive twat.
TBH I think Jesus was a troll. Instead of coming back as another sock he just come back to show people what an annoying dick he is and then he fucked off again.

Yeah Rocket . . . I hadn't thought about that either. But wow. That leaves us with two options, doesn't it. Either 1) it's true . . . gawd is such a psychopathic sadist, he wants to hear screams so badly that he resurrects and reconstructs our bodies in eternal, indestructible form just so that we can feel unending agony for all time (and in our cases, because HE set up original sin and because HE did not supply sufficient evidence to give us reason to believe in his existence), or 2) Hell is simply a lie made up by priests to scare people into doing what they were told by the priests. And since there is reason to believe that the priesthood came into being because non-alpha males found a way to rule over warlords and kings, well . . . I'm goin' with door number 2.

Yeah, I write quite a bit about what a psychopath it takes to make a torture chamber and then put people in it to suffer, when there are clearly other options... but that's not what's getting me scratching my head...
I'm still wondering what the rest of Hell's ecosystem looks like. I mean, seriously... worms?

I'm still wondering what the rest of Hell's ecosystem looks like. I mean, seriously... worms? Well, ya know, there are tube worms living in hot vents in the Marianas trench. I don't even know what other monsters you could think up that could live in lava pools, but hey - - maybe there are lifeforms in the universe resistant to heat. And maybe some psycho could actually think up a lava-based, no water, very little oxygen ecosystem. Eh . . . when you let sick imagination run wild, you get hell.
