No charges for Chicago cop who gunned down Ronald Johnson as he ran away

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lynn McCarthy said officers saw the weapon in Johnson’s hand after he fell to the ground.

Which means that even if they aren't fucking lying (dubious) they did not know he was armed when they shot him.  So they just shot a guy in the back and this DA is okay with that.

Based on what I know of the incident Johnson was a dummy.  He and his pals had been to a party and while they were leaving one or more shooters shot up their car.  They had initially thought about going to the police station but then they decided to return to the scene of the shooting.  I suppose they had forgotten their brains and common sense.  The local yokels started crying to 911 so that's a death sentence for someone when the crazy cops show up.  

Johnson and his pals were black guys who had lived in Chicago all of their lives, most likely.  So they should have know what was going to happen when they ran across a gang of crazy Chicago cops.  It happened.  Johnson got blown away.  His pals were luckier but they are still probably looking for their couple of brain cells and one bit of common sense.  It's doubtful is they will die of old age, especially if they stay in Chicago.

Crazy old white guy, with gun, shooting at the cops gets "arrested."  Obviously they did not empty their clips into him.

Texas cop returning to work despite writing that he loved being able to ‘kill people and not go to jail’

SAPD documents also indicated that Carle had made other Facebook posts that reflected badly on his department.
Following the suspension, Carle added a message to the top of his Facebook page: “The views and opinions expressed on my social media site are my personal views and not those of the San Antonio Police Dept.”
The Facebook page is now marked private and Carle is expected to return to work next week.
“Obviously, we take these types of incidents very seriously,” McManus insisted. “I think that the amount of suspension he received sends a clear message that this isn’t tolerated.”

No, chief.  It is not obvious that you take it seriously at all.  You've got a ticking bomb on your hands there and one day it will go off.

(And when it does - this entire story will be evidence in the civil suit against the city and the department.)

As a corollary I wonder how many time mentally ill Americans are likely to be hired by the police.  Given what we've been reading those numbers must be fairly high.

None of those incidents were crimes because "god" (aka the State) approves of those behaviors by cops against certain people.
