Oh, shit, by mixing my cannabutter with flour, sugar, vanilla, and eggs, I've become a felon once again!

Why would you "highly discourage" something that's of no consequence to anyone?

Well it is of consequence to the person doing it. It's terribly unhealthy and can ruin lives.

We should discourage by educating/warning people how bad it is. It's really worked for cigarettes.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Of what consequence is it to anyone if I consume a THC-infused chocolate chip cookie in the privacy of my own home?  (Which, BTW, I intend to do post haste.  I just gotta make the cookies.)

Oh look, marijuana use is a gateway to.... BAKING!

marijuana is a gateway to eating too much pizza and falling asleep while watching cartoons.

What about marijuana is terribly unhealthy? And can you point to one life marijuana has ruined (except by the state)?

I didn't realize we were talking about weed specifically. To me, it's already a given that weed should be legal, so when I said "I think all drugs should be legal but highly discouraged" I was referring to all the other (more hardcore) drugs that are actually up for debate in whether or not they should be legal.

In what way is a THC-infused chocolate chip cookie consumed in the privacy of my own home "terribly unhealthy" in relation to a regular one? In what way is THC eaten - not smoked - harmful to anyone? Got a link to a study, or something?

That aside, I believe what worked for cigarettes largely, was taxing them into unaffordability to minors and young adults, which is traditionally when the pushers tobacco companies got them hooked secured them as customers. Personally, I would have stuck it to the pushers rather than putting a regressive tax that disproportionately affected the poor. But that's just me.

I don't even know what THC is, CD. Honestly what I had in mind when I made that comment were things like Heroin, Cocaine, Meth...

Those drugs should be legal but highly discouraged through educating and consistently informing people about how harmful they are. If a particular "drug" (like weed for example) is not harmful, then there would be no basis for discouraging it. I figure it's a given that weed should be legal anyway, so my comment was aimed at the more hardcore drugs.

I thought you were using that as an example, my apologies. I didn't know what THC was until I looked it up and saw that it's just weed. My post was not directed towards weed because it's already obvious that weed should be legal. I just assumed "THC" was in the hardcore drug category when I saw your comment.

(with that being said... sheesh lol, I didn't realize so much would come from that little comment I made. People get way too defensive about this stuff, imho.)
