Quote: If you want Candidate A in office, and you don't vote for Candidate A, then there will be no record that you wanted Candidate A.
But I think Sanders is as much of a bullshit artist as Trump...and for much the same reason. He is not getting his agenda through congress. Free college? In this fucked up country? Give me a break.
I will happily settle for the candidate who will not drag this country back to the 1950s with their jesus lip service and more tax cuts for the billionaire class.

I'll just stick to asking you to (1) clarify what you meant in the bolded part and (2) substantiate that claim.
Nixon was there at the height of a major social transition which began with the JFK assasination, followed up very closely by assassinations of other public figures, including MLK. This time of disillusionment was coming-of-age time for the huge Baby Boomer generation, which rebelled against the establishment with sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll. The Hippie movement grew out of the social shift from accepted rule of authority in the 50's to modern individualist culture. People were experimenting a lot, and those who survived that came out wiser. The Boomers led the anti-war demonstrations, and more people became aware that wars which cost millions of lives may not be necessary. They were doing this while Nixon was in office. Yes, I think this all justifies my saying that people became smarter after this, even while so many withdrew from society upon their disillusionment.
I'm a bit jaded about the so-called social and cultural revolution of the Boomers. Yes, that generation made further strides than any before them when it came to civil rights, and for that they deserve praise.
And, yes, they protested Vietnam. But let's be honest about that. Many of them protested because the draft was in place and their asses were on the line. I don't recall a hell of a lot of Boomers protesting the Gulf War or W. Bush's later misadventures when it came to an all-volunteer military and other peoples' kids getting maimed or killed. And let's never forget that the generation that was supposedly lined up behind McGovern and was going to oust Nixon failed dismally in the '72 election. Nixon crushed them. Eight years later, many of these same fucks helped to vote Reagan into office.

1.The change of the political landscape
Sanders victory will have profound impact on what kind of canidates we will be able to elect in the future. It will alow other grass-roots campaigns to have a real shot at a general election.
2.Previously apathetic citizens will start becoming more politically active.
This will also restore faith that the system can be fixed and help progressives push more legislation that previously would have been considered to "left-wing"
3.Sanders isnt bought and wont give up
We need a candidate who isnt going to comprise when it comes to major issues. We need major change sooner rather than later. Those of you who say its not possible just look at bush, everyone told him what he could and could not do and he ignored them and everything he wanted and Donald Trump is similar.
Well he's not a war criminal, like Hillary Clinton, so that's good.

On the Baby Boomers, I was simply relating the facts on the role they played in a pivotal era - PLEASE do not mistake me for one of them myself, nor as any sort of advocate for those ultra-self-centered fuckers who managed to destroy everything that ever could have been good about America! They played a critical role in changing attitudes toward authority, and then they went right on to become the worst of the cultural dictators and financial tyrants ever to rape any culture.
Mr. Hanky loves you!

But is being a war criminal anything you consistently worry about? Did you take a stand against Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney and their dummy Bush? Or is this just some opportune shit to throw in Hilary's direction?

Remember when Barack Obama promised to make America great and all that bullshit he spouted at his campaign runs? Yeah, well that's gonna be the exact same scenario with Sanders.
You yanks nominate and elect the most awful people. Seriously.
