Tell me about it.  I live in an insane asylum. Wait, that doesn't sound right. I mean the country is one. What the hell am I doing here?

I understand you worship Sanders and all, but yeah he should. Politicians are liars.

I am really sick of humans, be it about religion or politics always being paranoid. There is no such thing as a utopia, and in the real world politics is as much full of crap as religion, but outside of becoming a third world anarchist country full of warlords, exactly what would you set up yourself?

I think you don't understand that EVERYTHING humans do, be it in the public sector, or private sector, be it a business model, a political party or a religion, are still all things run by humans, and as such every aspect of society can be subject to abuse.

If politicians are liars it can have a lot to do with humans like being lied to. Just like religion sells you fantasies. Just like business marketing will lie to you to get you to buy crap you don't really need. In the end we are still a flawed species. No, it is not perfect, and there are certainly some directions depending on economic stability in a period of time are not at the moment advantageous to the bulk of society.

But we will never live in a perfect world, and as crappy as the west can be in politics, when you compare it to the theocracies of the middle east and the tyranny of North Korea, we are still better off.

So instead of seeing a Utopia yourself, make an argument for the policies you'd like to see, instead of expecting a perfect world.

How does the saying go?

If you understand politics, then you don't understand politics.

So why are you voting for Hillary, considering she is getting most of her campaign finances from wealthy donors, and is making expensive speeches to Wall Street executives? Sure, she won't drag the country back to the 1950s, but she's in the pocket of the billionaire class just as much as any republican.

That's the thing, Sanders really isn't. You can look back at his 40 year career in politics, and the guy is seemingly incorruptible. His positions don't change, he doesn't have any scandals, he doesn't take money from corporate lobbyists.

I mean, just take a look at the numbers:

Bernie Sanders: https://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/...=n00000528
Hillary Clinton: https://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/...cle=Career

Over the course of their careers, the biggest donors to Sanders were workers unions. The biggest donors to Clinton were Wall St banks.

But is being a war criminal anything you consistently worry about?  Did you take a stand against Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney and their dummy Bush?  Or is this just some opportune shit to throw in Hilary's direction?

Yeah, of course I did. For me I'm a mono-issue voter. Although there are lots of things I care about, I really only vote based on foreign policy and I think my bar is pretty low honestly. They have to not be a war criminal and not likely to become one. I think they should all be indicted, Hillary too. She's been complicit and even encouraged US  backing of war crime regimes during her stint as secretary of state.

The hypocrites are the ones who bash on Bush and co but not Hillary who is every bit the neo-con on foreign policy as any republican. Probably a bit worse then most. That hypocrisy is amazing to me. When a Republican is in office it's always Bush did this and Bush did that when it comes to America's terrible foreign policy. When it's a Democrat, the criticism stays the same but the mention of the individuals suddenly stops and it becomes 'America does this and America does that' as though nobody at the top is suddenly making decisions. I'd vote for anybody who would change foreign policy. The other issues pale in comparison in terms of importance. Bernie Sanders fits that bill. Shame on anyone who would vote for Hillary.

This will also restore faith that the system can be fixed and help progressives push more legislation that previously would have been considered to "left-wing"

As a young person, this one is big for me. The 18-24 demographic is the least politically active demographic in the U.S.  Bernie's campaign has really brought my demographic out of the woodwork. It's amazing to see.
If I am right in believing Bernie Sanders has energized the Gen Y, Millennial generation voters. Then I can confidently predict that his odds of winning the Democratic nomination and possibly the presidency is quite good.

Looks like Sanders ran neck-and-neck with Clinton tonight in Iowa, with Clinton winning:

Didn't those guys at some institute who accurately predicted the elections' outcomes for the last forty years or so say Sanders would be the next president? Does that inspire confidence?
