I'm thinking the problem with chess involves the aspect of putting the king in peril and the fear it will put ideas in peoples heads in regards to the Saudi royals.
 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I think that instead of saying things are "not Islamic" they should be forced to say they are "upsetting to an invisible superman in the sky who is my buddy, who loves us, but will fuck us up for the tiniest transgression". See how long they can keep that up as an excuse.
