TBR starts The Quran Reloaded!

Sure, you can be offended. It's not like anyone can stop you. I don't know what the "right" to be offended is supposed to mean.
Sorry you didn't like it. Feel free to send me a private message.

Hmm!
I think Surah 1 is the most vile, offensive, depressing and dangerous thing I've ever heard. This book does not mess about when it comes to its agenda. Even if the rest of the book was flowers and kittens, the damage is done. This is a sick book. Atlas: You shouldn't assume any other atheists agree with anything these guys say. Wait, WTF? Why was Marilyn mentioned? Because I did his Sweet Peas song? He ripped it off, you know. It wasn't his song originally.
Even still, what? Oh, you thought I was taking the piss out of him. No, I was taking the piss out of myself. It's clear to me 15:38 is a joke. I've listened to these guys a long time, they talk all kinds of shit. You've taken it totally the wrong way, in my opinion. And if you're mentally transferring that to "atheists in general" then you're doing the very thing you're complaining about. If you want to insist it wasn't a joke, then that's fine. You can be offended. Feel free to send me a private message.

Eventually, if we think about it logically, it's a human who wants to laugh, and wants the content to be evolved around religion. Any religion, it doesn't matter. It's just a matter of exchanging bullets with heaven. In this firefight, everything is legal : citing skin color, making fun of other people's languages, make fun of their culture...etc. Under the umbrella of comedy, it's no issue. Just like the bully kid in school, who harasses the nerd until the nerd comes the next day with an uzi, just to empty the clip in every living thing. Eventually, they blame it on Marylin !! That's not comedy, that's bullying. But instead of blaming it on Eminem or Marylin, blame Islam for a change. It always starts with a bully, who calls his offence to others "comedy". The finger is pointed so easily at Muslims ! As if the modern constitutions aren't demanding you to be a slave who "worship the government", obeying its laws, in order to be accepted into "paradise"; which is a salary, home & sex. If you disobey, you go to hell; there is a concrete hell (prison), and a the fiery hell (via war; bombing, bullets, hellfire missiles). Yeah. So the Quran is so violent, it threatens those who disobey its constitution with hellfire !! But isn't that what every country constitution does ? putting a set of penalties over certain actions; that if committed, the committer gets tortured ? with the highest penalty of all : full-scale warfare ? Like when Allah puts penalties on certain actions. Like when the world fight marijuana but allows cigarettes (even though it causes cancer and multiple sclerosis), ya know, putting me in a concrete hell for smoking a herb, but then come angry, pointing fingers at Allah for porhibiting other things. This, that. RE: TBR starts The Quran Reloaded!

I appreciate you being a little less serious, but I still can't understand half of what you're saying.
Are you telling me their translation of Surah 1 was incorrect? What should it say? I'm not basing my opinions on their opinions, I'm basing them on what the Quran says. And unless you're saying they are misquoting it, then that's perfectly justified. The fact that I get some laughs along the way instead of being bored to tears is a bonus. I have no idea what you're talking about with Marilyn Manson, sorry. Who's a bully exactly? I can't follow you. Sure, they make some stereotype jokes. Big deal. They're not inciting violence, nor do they mean half of what they say. They are jokes, they are making fun of the people who do hold such stereotypes. Quote:Yeah. So the Quran is so violent, it threatens those who disobey its constitution with hellfire !! Are you serious with this? Really? Please tell me this was a joke. The Quran is filthy and disgusting, but it's OK, because everything is! No. It's not OK at all. It's not OK our countries are how they are, and it's not OK that the Quran is how it is. You can't excuse a supposed benevolent being from torturing things forever by erroneous analogies with what humans do. Especially since Surah 1 makes it clear he chooses exactly who he is going to torture. Really, what is the point of this book anyway, if Allah has already decided everything that is going to happen in advance? Unless Allah is actually just a human, after all. You see your own book is horrible but you worship it anyway. And again the analogy does not work, because I don't worship governments. I don't praise them if they make horrific decisions or threaten people. And I don't have the power to make it all better, like Allah does but refuses to. Coming back to the "joke" at 15:38, if you really thought they were serious, the implications are far worse: - They were doing a joke about what it would be like if the Quran was true about non-believers - You were surprised and disgusted to learn the Quran might be true about something - You were shocked that this particular piece of vile, divisive propaganda turned out to be something real and not just an excuse to justify any action taken against non-believers by making them out to be lesser - You are sick to your stomach that Allah created people, decided they would be non-believers (as made explicit in Surah 1), decided they would behave in this two faced way, and would then write about it so that people could know how bad this part of his creation is See, I've only witnessed the first couple of bits in the Quran, and already the religion is falling into place for me. You even admit the book is horrific, so really, I'm not telling you anything new here. Why you want to worship a disgusting monster is what puzzles me. I know (as far as it's possible to know anything) that there is no Allah, but the fact that you think it's real, and still choose to follow it, is really bizarre to me. Atlas, in the first post of the topic called "
Islam and its History and Impact of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)", Yukapuka says: 4. Sabines. They worshipped the stars. (I assumed Yukapuka meant Sabians) So that's where I got the star worship from. What you say is likely more correct than Yukapuka's assertions, but because they said the Sabians worship stars I pointed out what the Quran says about them. I have no idea where this person got the idea that they worship stars (but they did cite some history books) so you'll have to raise it with them; I was merely commenting on their claims. In my own research I did come across some "Christians" who live in Iraq today who claim to be Sabians. However, I'm not sure how similar they are to the Sabians the Quran asserts existed in modern day Yemen. Funnily enough, if I remember rightly, the Sharia says Christians are polytheists whereas the Quran gives them the distinction of being "people of the book" (i.e. not polytheists). It keeps repeating itself unnecessarily. It repeats but it does so with adding dimensions of reflections and the Surahs compliment one another. The main reflection has to do with the primary aspect of Wilayah (authority of God and his chosen ones), but the other components of the religion compliment that as well.
If you guys are interested in how the philosophy of Wilayah (Authority of God and his chosen ones) and the structure of religion as is, is complimented Surah to Surah, I'm doing a thread about this issue right here: http://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/2350...ason-meet/
