Someone should try Australia's cheapest internet plan from Dodo: unlimited time/unlimited data, no contract all for just $1 per month. 4-hour "soft sessions" apply. It used to be $9.90 with a download limit* (see below), but now has unlimited downloads. There is a $2.20 fee for posted invoices, but electronic invoicing attracts no fee. There is a $1.90 fee per transaction for direct-debit, but c/c payments attract no processing fee.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK "That's disgusting. 70 meg? What? Per hour?
That's pretty close to my maximum download PER MINUTE. Remind me not to move to Australia unless I want to live in a cave!
Dodo is one of the only ISPs in Australia that still offer dial-up plans. But look at how the cost of internet has fallen. In the glory days of the early-mid 90's internet cost around $1 per hour. Then the price dropped to around $1 per day "unlimited hours" ($30 per month) from the mid-late 90's-on. When Dodo started in 2001, they offered "budget" dial-up for 9.90/mo (33c per day), but more recently they've dropped the price right down to $1 per month. It may not be "super-fast" ADSL at 256kbps (yes that really was the ADSL speed in 2001). All I can say is thank sweet baby Jesus that we had VDSL in Canberra from 2001 (although not all of Canberra, since the ACT Labor government refused to trench wires for the southern suburbs with trenched power, and even refused to trench in areas of other suburbs such as Kambah that were deemed "too far from the polls").

Bitches, it's 2016 now.

![]() Not that I have any idea what it means or whether is good or not.
Divide speeds by 8 to get megabytes. So you can download atmost about 7.5 megabytes / second, which should be fast enough for almost anything you need to do.
@Losty
It's good for casual use: downloading TV shows, streaming Youtube, etc. The ping is the bounceback time if you send a message to a website and it responds back, it will take 1/10 of a second, which is slightly slow. It will only matter if you are downloading thousands of tiny files or playing online games that need quick reaction times. |
