That's not you.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

On another message board I posted extensively on a particular topic that coincidentally was of great interest to one of the locals here who knows me.

He mentioned the postings and asked if I had made them.  I acted as clueless as possible as had he then developed curiosity about other topics I had posted on at that site I would have a problem in real life. He noted this poster posted exactly the way I talk.  I was stunned.

Well I've never called anyone a cuntstain in real life, so I guess that means I'm meaner here. Though in my defense, I WAS addressing Randy Carson...

In terms of meanness and niceness, maybe a little bit meaner here in the forums ...

I do seem to talk too much here, though (compared to my real life self).

I do too, actually. But I think that's really just because I only swear when I'm talking to people I'm close with. I don't just blurt it out in front of anyone.

You'll swear but you won't say 'fart'.

I'm both meaner and nicer, here, than IRL, if that is possible.

Meaning:

I censor myself far less when I want to express my scorn or derision, here;

however I also make far more of a proactive effort to be diplomatic and welcoming, than IRL, too.

IRL, Neither the wife or I swear outside the privacy of our house.

EG:
Pam, "where's that bloody poofter cat gone now" is a daily comment, as is:
Pam, come and get this big bastard spider please, to which she exclaims: ohh he is a big motherfucker, isn't he?

Other than that, I don't argue with anyone, ever. It's too much hard work.
I let my silly alter ego loose here for a bit of fun...

I write like I talk and I talk like i think godammit!

I think that my real self has some things going for it that don't translate to my internet self.  You can;t really -be- anything approaching your whole self without turning your post into an emoji minefield...and when you're all done shitting up your post it's still not even close, amiright?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

RE: Your self in real life vs on AF
In real life, I cannot physically hide certain things. As such, people are pretty mean to me in real life. I am therefore quite on guard with many people, and blunt with certain others. Add to my disability a resting bitchface, and I'm likely rather intimidating to people in real life, unless you happen to be proselytizing for your church. In that case, it depends largely on my mood whether I argue with you or not.

On messageboards, I can hide as much or as little as I want. Therefore, I don't set myself up for as much irritation as IRL.

On here, I have some accent tags that do a fairly good job of showing how I am IRL if I'm not trying to impress somebody.
