....Is this accurate?
...Is it?
Sorry if someone already answered lol. I know no one was for a while, and now I don't want to read through all these pages to see if anyone ever did.
Hate? In some anti-theists that would be correct. Sub in "actively oppose" for "hate" and I think that would sum up the larger percentage of anti-theists.

what does it mean to actively oppose though? maybe just "dislike" rather than "hate?"
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Dislike will work, but that works for atheists also. For me, anti-theist is akin to a protester. You're gonna hear about their POV whether (weather) you want to or not. Being an atheist, I will more than likely agree with the message (in part or whole [hole]) but not with the delivery.

So basically, anti theists believe in "preaching" atheism, and atheists do not.

Sort of. It's more like they attack theism than preach about how great atheism is though.

Close enough for me to agree. I'm sure I'll be told I'm incorrect.

Lol. I think what Evie said makes sense. Since atheism is merely the absence of theism, "preaching" it would just consist of attacking theism. (and I use preaching for lack of a better term). And it's not that you, MH, don't agree with what they are saying, it's just that you don't agree with it being preached.

Not really.
A person may be opposed to religion (anti-theist) and not "preach" atheism. Not everyone is motivated enough, or outspoken enough to be an activist. But that doesn't mean they are not against religion.
Before I considered myself an anti-theist, I still posted just as much on forums, still discussed religious beliefs with theists just as much as I do now.
It was only more recently that I came to the conclusion that religion itself is harmful to society and the planet, that I became an anti-theist.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
