I think people would rather defend the turtle than the penguin because the penguin is an asshole.

I googled a penguin meme and found this, I nearly passed a stone:

You may refer to me as "Oh High One."

I think you need to start minding your own business and stop calling me names every other post.

The reason that none of your statements have been representative in the manner that you've formed them..is that while many of them are true with reference to judeo-christian theology specifically, meaning and god (and religion) is a much larger tent with many more occupants than that tradition alone.

If you demand some sort of meaning for god, ala judeo-christian theology, ofc a deistic god will not satisfy....but that tells us nothing...other than that you are expressing bias towards judeo-christian interpretations when you consider these terms, likely by simple virtue of your place of birth and in-time.

That's an interesting take on what I said. It's wrong. Go read my posts again.

You think so?  How is it then that you think the term god doesn't describe anything in a deistic context?  It describes whatever the deist in question says it does (you simply doubt the accuracy of the attribution).  All you've refered to is what god describes in a particular theistic context and said..."see....it's not the same thing."

Yeah, no shit....right?

You think that theism added meaning to god, and it did...to theistic gods. Theism, however, has nothing to do with the meaning of god to a deist or a deistic god. It's completely irrelevant.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

See, that's what people are getting at. You could simply have said "that's interesting, but wrong and here's why...", or something on those lines. Instead you chose the high horse. And I get it; I'm not blameless in responding in a supercilious tone. Difference is I try not to make a habit of it.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Please provide me with definitions of your choosing for deism and theism.

There's no need, my statements don't depend on any particular definition. The very next sentence, after the bit -you- bolded, answers your question in any case; it's not about my definition, I'm not the deist in question. Respond or refrain, but don't stall, it's irritating. Wink
