I’m an atheist. So why can’t I shake God?

How could God end all suffering and not eliminate free will?

Please explain.

Really shit on your own myths there.  Gratz.

You didn't read the article, did you?

Whenever I call customer service, I'm pretty certain it doesn't.

Kinda like your experience in prayer, I suppose.

Hmm.  Not sure how to take that.  I have been told so many times that "you haven't heard god's voice because you weren't praying the right way, or for the right things, or in the right receptive state of mind, or . . .       all of that BS.  I prayed quite fervently for well over 40 years.  You would think even a moron like me would get it right once.    Dodgy

OR, I could actually take that response as an attempt at humor, and not a slam at my lack of proper religiosity.  In that case, oddly enough . . .  Clap . . . good one.

It's not an argument for atheism. It establishes the fact that monotheists are atheistic with respect to all the other gods created by humanity and is often deployed when a theist feigns ignorance when given the actual reason for someone's atheism.

And I'm a bachelor with respect to all women on earth except for my wife.

I'm homeless with respect to all dwellings on earth except for the house I live in.

I'm unemployed...

This is an emotional appeal but there isn't much substance to it.

Athrock, according to you this fucker created the universe, so I think he could get over a minor problem like that.

Which is precisely the same question you have attempted to answer.

What has a better chance of surviving to produce offspring, a primate that can associate a snake's rattle with potential mortality or a primate that is oblivious?

It's recognition of cause that gives evolutionary advantage Kick in abstract thought and people start wondering 'what causes lightning?'. Ancients didn't possess the ability to ascertain the true cause of lightening and created god to satisfy their yearning for causal explanation. We're 'wired' for cause identification, not god.

This must be your first time considering the matter. It's not a minor problem.

Is that what this wiring is all about? Identification of causes?

Does it matter?   I responded to your comments.  You don't think that I'm interested in reading all the shit you link to, do you?  You'd have to have far more credibility with me than you do for me to invest that kind of time.

So, whats the problem, can't own your own statements, don't feel like you should have to suffer the indignity of critically discussing them?  How very christian. You asked a question...more like offering an objection. I answered it.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
