Sorry, Brian.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

That has problems on so very many levels that I have even heard priests make fun of it in the middle of a wedding sermon. One priest said "sex between a married couple is also for emotional bonding, and is necessary even when one member of the couple is found to be infertile, or in later life". Of course, he was only talking to straight people that were married in the Catholic Church. The idea that sex is for procreation only is a remnant of tribal days: more children = bigger tribe = success. Someone engaging in sexual acts that did not lead to reproduction was being a traitor to the tribe.
Some priests will tell you that homosexuality is not a choice, and that the homosexual was created that way by god.
Homosexual acts are not evil or disordered - they occur throughout the spectrum of nature. Homosexual behavior has been observed in most mammalian species.
The Catholic Church teaches that sex is for procreation and unity of the couple. Anything less is a distortion of the Church's actual teaching.
That is a contradiction because Jesus also said to do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and my favorite thing in the whole world is a blowjob so by that logic I am supposed to just blow random people at all times, which would be homosexual because I am male. Could you explain how to reconcile this contradiction?
Jesus is like Pinocchio. He's the bastard son of a carpenter. And a liar. And he wishes he was real.

Sorry that I'm not going to try to convince you to believe what I believe.

Ok, nobody is going to have you arrested, no, but then don't bitch when we respond to your posts.
And if you are not willing to prove what you claim, still, if you think this page is simply all for the purpose of going "kumbia" that would be a mistake.
Of course you aren't going to try to convince us, because that is the dodge theists make when they have no evidence for their claims.
We don't doubt you truly believe what you do, again, I was a former Catholic. I do however doubt you understand how easily humans fall for their own false interpretation of what they think they saw.

Clearly, I don't "b*tch" when people respond to my posts. Disagreeing or pointing something out, doesn't constitute as b*tching.

The word is "bitching"....... I always find it funny when people truncate words with symbols as if spelling the real word out in full has magic powers. You got me, I honestly thought "b*tching" meant something else.
Yes you were bitching, otherwise why would you tell me to "chill out"?
You got upset because you are not used to being challenged.

I told you to chill out because you seemed very angry, not because you were "responding to my post," as is what you accused me of. It was for your own good. You're just very intense sometimes. Relax, man. It's ok to disagree.

Funny that you, a complete stranger on the internet, knows what I am and am not used to.
Also, I'm not upset.

Yes I am "angry". But not in the context you want to paint me.
YES, it pisses me off that humans, with good intent or ill intent fail to see how bad logic leads to bad conclusions.
NO, I am not angry at your existence. YES your logic pisses me off.
Now, if you think I am unreasonable fine, again, as I a have consistently said, PROVE IT.
You still don't get me.
My response to your horrible logic is no different than when I was growing up and my parents or teachers had me dead to rights, but I was persistent in responding with stupidity they RIGHTFULLY got fed up and said "KNOCK IT OFF, YOU ARE WRONG".
Now again, it still remains you claim it is ok for a gay to be a Catholic. And you keep needlessly responding to any objection to your logic as if someone murdered your family because we merely took you out of your comfort zone.
I am reacting to you in the same way as if I had a friend who repeatedly claimed the Yankees won the Superbowl.
You are wrong, not because you are a horrible human deserving of arrest or death. You are wrong because your logic does not work. And the worst part is even you said you couldn't prove what you claim. Then you still ignore that I am saying, "If you cant prove the position you hold, then maybe you are merely basing that on flawed logic and emotion".

I disagree with C_L on a lot, but I definitely agree with her sentiment that you need to relax, Brian. Why don't you take it out on one of the more vile people on the forum? There are plenty of them. Take it to the "pop morality" thread, maybe. It's much more deserving of your vitriol.
Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.
