Actually no, he was supposed to be the outsider candidate, after trump ran his course. Or rather than his how he protrays himself.

Sure, he's a grade A bullshitter, but he's been a -deep- political insider since Bush the Dumber's first term, he helped realize that.
Carson, not so much, he got famous at a national prayer breakfast ffs. Trump...yeah..he's an outsider to the repub party, but he's not exactly an outsider to intrigue..... and he's taken to politics like a duck in water.

I hope they succeed in screwing Trump though. Nothing I'd like better than to see Trump explode and run as an independent thus ensuring that the fucking republicunts come in third.... just like 1912.

I looked that up since I didn't know that. Nice to see that even a socialist candidate managed to collect 6 percent of the votes back then.

Teddy Roosevelt was the only great republican president of the 20th century.
Quote:No man can be a good citizen unless he has a wage more than sufficient to cover the bare cost of living, and hours of labor short enough so that after his day's work is done he will have time and energy to bear his share in the management of the community, to help in carrying the general load. We keep countless men from being good citizens by the conditions of life with which we surround them. We need comprehensive workmen's compensation acts, both State and national laws to regulate child labor and work for women, and, especially, we need in our common schools not merely education in booklearning, but also practical training for daily life and work. We need to enforce better sanitary conditions for our workers and to extend the use of safety appliances for our workers in industry and commerce, both within and between the States.

And one of the first environmentalists. He also had travelled the world extensively before becoming president. Certainly a man with a broader horizon than what we see today.

He was also an imperialist but hey, nobody's perfect. Besides, back then he didn't have the capability to carry it out.

As usual, people lean on everyone's equal with equal pay and equal rights or obligations. That's what has been hammered into their heads for decades. But all they asked for was workers actually profiting from what they produce. Getting their fair share of the means of production. They also said that everyone should persue a career of their liking and do what they are best suited for. Total equality was never the goal. Yeah, people have strange ideas about what was meant, or what was achieved, or even what was aimed for in that context. All part of being used as boogeymen for a couple of generations, I guess. I think we can all agree that a doctor is a more vital job than a burger flipper, overall, and deserves very good compensation, but should that mean the burger flipper doesn't deserve a living wage? That's not an argument that makes sense to me.
Me neither, and sometimes I think we've ignored some of those metrics you mentioned above (they should all be factored in). I don't think that theres a job on this earth that doesn;t deserve a living wage. If someone -truly- can't make a living wage doing what they do (or by being paid by their boss....and on this end I have strong suspicions that it;s an excuse to exploit)....then, flat out, we don't need to make that shit. It's a net loss, it's worthless. It wastes our limited resources, it wastes our limited time, and it cheapens our limited lives.
Burger flippers, for example...are the profitable commodity in most fast food joints...not the burgers. That's some shady shit. Trump is all for the rich to to get richer, a living wage is not important to them. He does not want people to have options just like any other Republican. Look at Texas, if you need an abortion good luck. Trump would make life very hard on others if he was elected.

A doctor does deserve a higher wage over a burger flipper, but the bigger flipper should not have to work 2-4 jobs to pay his rent. If the post high school education was paid for or a lot cheaper he or she be able to work one full-time job and go to school. But, that would take money out the banks cause student loans would not be as profitable then. We can also stop making lawyers wealthy as well, divorces should be a simpler process. A woman or man should not be able take as much money and they do in these cases. This practice needs to end cause it's causing more harm then helping others.
