One of the reasons you needn't worry about religion being outlawed is that there is a substantial number of people (religious folks and atheists alike) who understand the value of secularism in government and a vigorously defended 1st Amendment.

we are just one or two more 9-11's away from a ban on 'radical religion.' and because you P/C dolts have sold your common sense so that you can put a dress on and wander in the girls bathroom if you want, the term 'radical religion will slowly migrate to include' anything that is not all inclusive, or anything that is not 'P/C friendly.' like i said at the rate we are going.. 10 years tops.

Most of the members here would oppose any ban on religion, even 'radical religion'. And if we won't do it, who will?

I'm a hell of a lot less PC than you seem to think I am. What I am, however, is serious as a heart attack about the 1st Amendment. Don't expect me to support outlawing religion, radical or otherwise. I don't give a fuck how many towers fall. Freedom of conscience is non-negotiable.

Well I'm sure their will be a 'sympathizers' camp right next to the camp of concentration the 'radical religious' people will be sent to 'think about/concentrate' on how to be better citizens.

Maybe the sympathizers will be made to clean the ovens after they've been used.

Seriously though it is comming. ISIS and Radical Islam will pave the way, but the legislation will be used to force anyone in line who does not agree with the state.

Then their will be a 'test' meaning those who are with the state will have to get 'stamped' or tagged with some sort of bio chip maybe on the hand or forehead that will be needed to do business/live.

This is what I think of as 'martyrbation', a form of self-pleasuring revolving around the fantasy of being oppressed.

You can't take suicide rates at face value either when you're dealing with a group of people who are regularly abused by society. You could make any group more suicidal if you hassled them enough.

This is how the sanctimonious bully playbook works:

1. Be bigoted against a group and tell them at every possible opportunity that something is fundamentally wrong with them
2. They get depressed and commit suicide
3. Now you get to say: told you so, them be crazy! Now your work is done and you're allowed to feel even better about yourself.

That is how the minds of narcissists work, only there's more steps to it. See below:

1 - Find a victim to target. 
2 - Hook them in with false charm and adoration to the point that the victim falls madly in love and sees the narcissist can do no wrong.
3 - Once hooked, remove mask and start saying insulting things, only to turn around and;
     3a - be the one that comes to their defense when the victim is hurt
     3b - continue abusive behavior while still managing to be "loving".
     3c - only show this side of themselves to the victim. Shows "charming" self to everyone else.
4 - Victim starts feeling like they are going crazy and seeks out advice of mutual friends.
5 - Mutual friends refuse to believe the narcissist could ever do those things because narcissist has never acted that way around said friends before. 
6 - Victim doesn't realize they are dealing with a narcissist until it's too late (possibly years later).
7 - Victim is left trying to undo all the damage narcissist has caused while narcissist immediately goes out to acquire their next target (victim).

Thanks for the info. I thought it was a bit sudden to be talking about religion as a mental illness.

I wouldn't classify it as that, at least on its own. It seems to me more of a state of delusion brought about by regular reinforcement of crazy ideas. The symptoms it can present in extreme cases though, seem hard to distinguish from those of mental illness.

Several people have hinted at a very real practical problem with trying to segregate people by genitals alone: people can lie. For example, I can just walk into the ladies' room, and if challenged, I'll say I'm actually "a woman". I have a vagina. I'm just also on male hormones and such. I've had lots of operations, making me look extremely like a man, I just haven't had sexual reassignment.

What are they going to do, insist I show them my vagina?

And this fucking garbage: "They will attack people!" But they don't. It's like, "Atheists would murder everyone! They have no morals!" But they don't.

As a side not, I'm fascinated by this idea that religion may be being classed as a mental illness. Is this for real? It's about time something was done to stop people getting away with negligence on religious grounds.

It's not for real, and it would be a bad thing if it happened. Getting away with negligence in religious grounds is an entirely separate issue from religion being classified as a mental illness, and should be dealt with on its own terms.

It is really irritating and annoying that some people think equality is a call to ban religion. Same crap said about transgendered now was said about gays, and before that interracial marriage and blacks and women. It is not persecution to include.
