I'm far less concerned about "criminals" than I am about the idiot in the next house dropping his shotgun and sending a freedom missile through my window.
You see, while it is true that if 'guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns" it is also true that if 'guns are outlawed many fewer assholes will have guns."

That's interesting... I take it you mean you are worried about accidental shootings in general, and not specifically the situation you mentioned? How does that compare with other accidental death stats, like drownings or car accidents?

So in the United States, there were 130,000 unintentional deaths in 2013; only 505 of them being from firearms. There were 30,000 deaths due to falls, 3,400 due to drownings, and 35,000 due to motor vehicle accidents. Obviously cutting down on the number of deaths in any of these categories is a good thing, but perhaps firearms are actually safer than they are perceived to be?

Read the whole thread. It is mainly about morons who kill themselves or others by accident.
I love how casually you dismiss 500 dead bodies because of assholes with guns.
