And you might not be that far off the mark. There's a lot of money to be made on selling hatred, bigotry and snake oil.

Which is why The Daily Mail newspaper is successful in the UK.

The right wing Xtians in America must be so happy that they have a target to discriminate against.

Of course, it's straight out of his Katrina/Haiti playbook -- blame the victim and impute the cause to an angry god. It goes back centuries, and is a good if unnecessary reminder that they only thing these folk have to sell is not salvation, but fear.

You know, there might be something to all this. I once attended a gay pride parade, and about a month later, I broke a dish I was washing. On a more recent occasion, I hired the son of our lesbian neighbours to do some gardening, and the same day petrol prices went up 5c/liter.

If I wasn't so terrified, I might go into the women's bog for a pee, but I'm afraid my internet service would slow down.
