Due to cool-ass technology, the machine can now make your VR existence seem up to thousands of times longer than your remaining natural life would have been. It does it by sending the experiences you desire to your brain much faster than you'd usually experience them, and enhances the brain so that they don't appear to be coming in faster. You can choose how long you'd like your "life" to be upon entry.
For those who said no, would it change your mind if the machine received this improvement?

Rob. It's not working. You need to threaten them with bad shit so they can go with option A. Isn't that how it works?
Listen here motherfuckers, if you don't customise you own VR to live in, one will be picked for you. It will be random.
You could end up being Boy George, D.Trupf, a loyal ISIS salesman, or worse, Drich! DRICH! OK quick, Where the fuck do I sign! hehehe

Shit, I forgot.
It's totally your choice, of course. But if you don't get in, there's this insane robot thing that's going to come in and hang you upside down and beat the crap out of you for 19 years.
Or what ig said. We'll choose your VR. But it's totally your choice.
What? Have we tested the VR machine? Of course we have. (We have, right?)

At first I may have said no, but with the life extension thing of a 1000 times longer than normal life I'll take the VR.
Without the life extension I don't think I'd take it. I don't think I'd voluntarily force a lie upon myself to feel better, I like the challenge of life at the moment. Id have to think hard about it though, I'm still not sure I'd say no.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

Paul. But if it's as real as this life? That's Rob's point? There's no guarantee that you're not a brain in a vat in this life anyway, is there?

That is a consideration, yeah. How "real" is this life anyway? We have no way of knowing. I have resigned myself to defining "realness" in relative terms only.
Come to think of it, I'd actually take a kind of compromise. I would want to know it's not real for the "hub" of my operations in this new life, but then I can design and inject myself into scenarios of my choosing within the VR, so that it feels real. This gives me god like powers over my own life and happiness, and guards against any kind of boredom. I can of course remove my own memories to relive scenarios as if for the first time too.
Some of the scenarios would be very sexual. You didn't need to know that.

Answering the OP, no I wouldn't. This is the world I'm attached to. Even if I found out this world was a VR, I'd still choose to stay here rather than move back to the real world.

What if the sim glitches and you're stuck forever and nobody's there to notice?
