@ Roz
Yeah, so in one sense the imagination is 'real' and in another sense it's not... would you agree? Of course the cause is physical but the subjective experience the neural communications translate to are just what I'd call imaginary but me perceiving the desk is also translated by my neurons communicating but the desk will still be there whether I exist or not while my thoughts will only exist if I exist. So that's what I'd call imaginary. It feels like it's becoming a definition problem now, because obviously thoughts aren't immaterial. Also can you quote me, I don't get alerted otherwise :p sorry if I come out as rude.
Nah, i enjoy my perfectly imperfect life. The twist, the turns, the unpredictable, the challenges, the diversity.
I only read the original post and it reminded me of the movie "Vanilla Sky." ![]()
Adding to what Rob said. How do we know we're not already in our personal vr we chose for ourselves?
We can never know. We all unticked the religious option when setting it up, that's all.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

If I had a 'Star Trek" holodeck, I would never leave.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.
-- Homer Simpson God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion. -- Superintendent Chalmers Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things. -- Ned Flanders Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral. -- The Rev Lovejoy
I'm of the opinion that unpleasant experiences motivate us more than pleasant ones do. We'll do anything to get away from anxiety, fear, boredom, loneliness, or sadness, but we give less thought to whether something will make us happy or not. To pass the time without feeling, would that be nirvana?

Any time I want, I can then revisit the excitement of having every opportunity open to me for the first time. Then I'd probably set up a super huge roller skating rink with a pizza bar.
