RE: What's the point in dating single mothers?

Sad as it is, alot of times guys especially young boys get scared when they get a girl pregnant, and bail. Then again alot of times it's the father who man's up and grows up with a kid. Some Mother's don't. It's a mix. When a female gets pregnant, she's a mom for the rest of her life. Some guys can't handle that, but to be fair...neither can some girls. I think it's more about conquering for some. Not true responsibility. I was a single mom for 10 years, but a beautiful man came along and changed everything.

It's great that the two of you can do that. I have tried several times to be the bigger person and just let my ex say what he wanted to. I did that in order to keep the peace. He has done so much twisting of words and telling lies all over the place that after 11 years, it has taken its toll on me health-wise. I just don't see how a person like that can sleep at night knowing they are literally destroying another human being.

I sure feel for you in your circumstances. Believe me, I consider myself lucky for us having found a way past our bitterness, and although your ex- doesn't sound like a guy who gives two shits about anyone but himself, I do hope that you can retrieve your rights as a mother and move on to happier days, hon.

In Georgia, shared custody is mandatory unless there are significant reasons to do otherwise. My exhusband wasn't just severely abusive (physically, sexually, and emotionally), he also stabbed me in the stomach during my last pregnancy. Still when I went to the final hearing on my divorce, to find out the decision on custody...I requested full custody of course, the judge said "well you're lucky he didn't show up today, otherwise it'd have likely been 50/50"

Holy crap!!!!!!
I am sooo sorry.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

It's in the past for me. It's been almost 4 years and I'm mostly usually moved on from it. My point was only that courts are not completely sexist anymore. Here they really push for shared custody and you're also required to take a course on parenting in a broken family when you get divorced.

So, after all the abuse, if he'd shown up he would have been given shared custody?
How fucked up is that?
And I'm sorry you went through all that, Lost One. The cunt should have been put down for that.
