Quote:Since 1 Corinthians 7:2 clearly includes sex before marriage in the definition of sexual immorality, all of the Bible verses that condemn sexual immorality as being sinful also condemn sex before marriage as sinful. Sex before marriage is included in the biblical definition of sexual immorality. There are numerous Scriptures that declare sex before marriage to be a sin (Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13, 18; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7). The Bible promotes complete abstinence before marriage. Sex between a husband and his wife is the only form of sexual relations of which God approves (Hebrews 13:4).
Seems hostile to me.

Your reading comprehension skills need work. Nowhere did I defend Islam nor did I claim the existence of a Christian theocracy. In fact I was quite clear regarding the reason none exist.
Your 'few bad apples' No True Scotsman defense is ridiculous. Abrahamic religious adherents ascribe to special texts that are openly hostile to homosexuals. The few bad apples can simply point to the text to support their position, the 'others' such as yourself must rationalize a position contrary to what your sacred text suggests.
And from my viewpoint (and most likely from God's too) these "'others' such as yourself" types are apostates.
I'm not inclined to give much weight to the arguments the folks in that category make when they come to AF, as they bluntly, aren't doing their own faith correctly.
Their remedy is to either get square with their God, announce a revelation and instigate their own schism, agnosticism or atheism.
Attempting to put their own spin on their ''faith" while repeatedly contradicting their deity is essentially the serving two masters problem. If they want to be the CEO of their own church, fine, but running amok with the heresies and apostasies while espousing fealty to the Lord isn't going to convince any of the atheists here of anything.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I'm pretty sure that's a minority in Christianity, seeing how the majority of Christians believe that homosexuality should be accepted by society.

Not sure where you got the "majority" evidence. There is a saying among Christians "I can hate the sin but love the sinner". This keeps homosexuals marginalized even among moderate Christians. This marginalization is why cultural centers/nightclubs such as "Pulse" exist.

It's evident that they never read Sirach 12:6 (CEB) = "The Most High also hated sinners, and he will repay the ungodly with punishment."

I'm sure any moment some xristard will come along to tell you that if you write that in ancient Aramaic, translate it into Syriac, then hold it in front of a mirror and read it backwards and then shove your head up your own ass that it doesn't say what you think it says.
(They are always pulling that shit.)

Last I checked, the Old Testament calls for stoning them to death. Isn't the Old Testament in the Bible? Do not many Christians still regard its teachings as valid?
Hey Thump, Yes the OT commands the Jews to stone gays at that point in time 4000 or so years ago. That's a Jewish series of books. Written for Jewish people. Some sects of Judaism still follow the laws written in it. It still carries relevance to Christians but we don't follow it by any means. Christians follow the teachings of Christ.

Yeah, not so much. It seems to me that the people you quoted there don't make much of a distinction between any type of sexual immorality. Of course you could find any number of liberal preachers that would tell you that there is no such thing as sexual immorality. It doesn't prove anything. All your doing is posting somebody's opinion on what it means. When I said the writings in the NT aren't hostile, I was giving a direct comparison to the moldy Koran. The Koran states that gays are to be executed brutally wherever they are found. The teachings of the Christian NT disagree with the lifestyle but never call for believers to harm them in any way. Sorry man, if you say that the NT is more hostile than the Koran on treatment of lgbt people, then your no friend of lgbt people.
