No idea... memory is usually more expensive for older systems. You may be able to get by with a 4gb stick but if you have no free slots you'll need an 8g kit. Ask your PC guy, he should be able to tell you since he's laid eyes on it.

It's NP btw Nymph, I'm an insomniac, and grown ass man, who dumped thousands of hours into minecraft, how else could I justify that if not for moments like these?

Awesome... I have minecraft running and my fan is super loud now. And I've got some lagging on Firefox now because of it. Ugh. FML.
I think I have available slots as I've never done anything to the innards of this thing and he was super excited to know that I had room for more stuff inside.
Just wanted a ballpark figure so I knew how much to set aside in two weeks. Thank you CD, also, for helping me with this stuff. I really hate being stupid over things like this. Give me an old car and I can rebuild the engine, change the breaks, oil, starter, rebuild the carburetor (if it's super old), put in a new head gasket etc... Give me a computer and I become useless.

Awesome, im guessing that will fix your problem - and leave you with plenty of mem to spare for other stuff (or running a client and hiost simultaneously, for the kids). If it does, there are some other things we can do, like up your paging file and cleaning up your hd and privs. Make it really purr.
