Actually you can. ( stop it Mark, this is not adding to the discussion/banter)

Technically, you haven't really fought the fire - you've just moved it over a bit. And enlarged it.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Poca, I agree that in the scheme of things it's small indeed. But I also think she's right that we each should be exemplifying our values in the sphere we inhabit. None of can force society to comport with our values, but we can promulgate them in those places we do control. And I think it's an aspect of the discussion that got overlooked in the rush to go and take a swipe at her.
Honestly, I found the intransigence over such a small issue a bummer.

Now there's wit in action. What's next, "I'm rubber and you're glue"?
I return courtesy for courtesy, and rudeness for rudeness. If that makes me "self-important" in your eyes, I really can't be bothered to care. If you want civil conversation, I'm happy to give it even in disagreement. If you want conversation at the level of "fuck you too", you'll need to look elsewhere.
And if you want to talk down to me, you will always get a fuck right off thrown at you. Don't like it? Don't talk down to me.

Actually according to an episode in DreamWorks Dragons series, you can fight fire with fire. Ask Ruffnut and Tuffnut..
Man. I've really got to stop watching cartoons.

"Our values"? As far as I'm concerned, I'm fine with how things are, on that subject.
I wouldn't want to ban bare chested pics of men, nor am I comfortable with providing easy access to bare chested pics of ladies to young kids who may come to this site.
For me, that's just the standard. And it seems to be the standard for whoever is paying for the site... so... who are we to go against them?

Our values do not promote conflating sameness with fairness.
Jor also explained it very well when she talked about the difference between gender equality and gender parity.
Being unfair to both sexes just so it's the same for both makes no sense. Changing an actual rule to promote equal unfairness for all makes even less sense.
Limiting freedoms for additional people will never be fair. Two wrongs do not make a right and doubling unfairness does not make fairness.
