Contradicting passages in the Bible? Oh, say it ain't so!
Quote:"Eternal Punishment" From Mark is a miss translation: http://www.tentmaker.org/articles/Eterna...Greek.html
The Greek form for "everlasting punishment" in Matthew 25:46 is ”kolasin aionion." Kolasin is a noun in the accusative form, singular voice, feminine gender and means "punishment, chastening, correction, to cut-off as in pruning a tree to bare more fruit." "Aionion" is the adjective form of "aion," in the singular form and means "pertaining to an eon or age, an indeterminate period of time."
So then, according to how you interpret it, what will happen to me, an atheist, when I die?
Interesting thought experiment and there are a great many factors: Emotional trajectory at time of death (are you at peace or are you still clinging to earthly experience whether through addictions, anger, or even loved ones). From my understanding and 3d mapping of the universe, once the physical body can no longer support our consciousness, it "valences" to it's next outer body and in the next realm surrounding ours, the "astral realm". We go there during the dream state with various levels of volition but most often it's driven and created by emotional inertia, not conscious choice of creation and interaction.
It's a denser realm than "this" one (they are overlapping fields) which patterns for only the lightest type of quark rendered stable by the universe (there are 2 higher densities in the standard model of particle generation and their mirror anti-types, 6 total.) In this place (also called the water realm or river Stix in old terms) some souls get stuck in a dreamlike chasing after their former life (ghosts) or co-creating hellish states with other souls who make this nature of themselves before they pass on. Aka purgatory.
A heart/soul at peace and equilibrium that is no longer attached to horizontal phenomenon, becomes subject to a 3rd overlaying field, the universe's electromagnetic field and it is vertical. The central axis is a tube that passes over the center of the universe and both are outside our "physical" and astral bends of space time. They are nested horizontal ring tori with the EM tube running through the middle hole vertically and turning into magnetism as it spreads apart to wrap around the outside of them. I have a total map drawn out if you'd like to see.
That is the tunnel of light spoken of in many NDE's and it leads to the center of the universe which is the individuation of God, the Throne, the Son of God. There people have reported a multitude of experiences: Panoramic life review, meeting and talking with some kind of God/Jesus/Lord figure, etc. Most of the judgment I have read about is self judgment because in that state and place you are immersed in omni-sentience. Only it's not directed at you, you are looking through it.
I've had similar subjective experiences...and sometimes I got too close with too much baggage and my own resistance to the flow of consciousness burned. Much like an undefined light bulb filament when the power is turned on.
I firmly believe in the Intelligence, Wisdom, Compassion and Mercy of the God that Is. I believe all that is required on our part is to judge ourselves correctly and treat others justly as best we can, forgive and have mercy on each other for not being perfect yet. Beyond that, I think simple gratitude goes a very long way. To be thankful for one's life, to be thankful for correction, to be thankful for the ability to continue to grow and be cleanse of past errors. I am thankful for judgment, without it I could conceivably create error into near perpetuity with no hope of self extrication.
I view this life in a body as a process of mummification. Shrouded in matter, shrouded in culture shrouded in personal opinion and individual life experience. Death takes off the first shroud but there are more wrappings to undo accumulated over a lifetime and they have inertia. So make them light! And if they are not through no choice of your own, be grateful to let them go. =)
I know I went off on a few tangents and I may have skipped things you consider important, but that in an abridged nut shell is what I think will happen during the first part of your "afterlife"
Happy to explore further if you have more questions or want to take me to task about any of this.
