Switzerland’s biggest political party unveils plans to leave Schengen

The right-wing People’s Party (SVP) has unveiled new proposals to try and halt the free movement of people around the European Union.

Vice President Christoph Blocher made the shock statement after a parliamentary panel rejected the government’s threat to impose quotas on the number of foreigners entering the country next year.

Instead, they opted for a compromise based around hiring workers with a preference towards local people.

Mr Bolcher said: "If we see that the law to implement (a 2014 referendum to curb immigration) does not massively reduce immigration, the SVP will launch an initiative to end the free movement of people.”

You might want to look up what his party likes and dislikes by the way. Christianity is one of their favorite flavors. LGBT or abortion rights, not so much.

I support one aspect of their party, which is obviously stricter borders and that's about it.

But as I said before, if they come to power you don't get the option of being picky choosy. The whole package is yours to deal with. And if they don't love you for what you are or what you hold dear, tough.
