Am I the only one who doesn't remember ever telling a lie?

Although with enough motivation it would be possible but it would have to be very special.

One way is if it was a choice between lying or being violent I'd lie.

TBH this thread and my Aspie thread kind of tie in together.

As it happens this is exactly what I was like as a child, as I was not able to be polite about my honesty, I only learned that in the last few years (I was even super rude at times just a couple of years back, it's a long process):

I keep the folks of AF updated about my life because.... you guys are kind of like my second family. And some of you are super lovely. Kind of like my (extended) family.

I remember lying, as a youth trying to avoid punishment, as an adult to spare the feelings of others, and of the three by far the worst, as an alcoholic lying to my ex-.

Hmmm. Lying as a child... to avoid punishment.

Ah, I think me and my brother used to lie together to stay out of trouble. I guess I didn't feel guilty for lying when the responsibility was shared. Hm.

ETA: I'm sure I did lie as a child even when I was alone to get out of trouble, but I was certainly more honest than average and to such an extent that I don't remember any of my lies. Although maybe that's normal because childhood is a long time ago?

Games are like their own mini-reality to me. Hence why I'm often a complete prick within them Tongue

Same goes for roleplay... yes in that sense as well.

Yeah... Actually, that can cover a lot if you want it to.

But you can't say you never lie, either. I'm sorry. You're just as much of a liar as the rest of us.

I can't remember lying maliciously, if that counts. I feel wrong if I do or come close to it. As in lying to someone just for my own benefit and knowing they could never find out about it.

As a general rule I try to avoid lying - not so much because I have ethical misgivings about it, but simply because I can't be a**ed to remember what lies I told to whom. I smoke way too much weed, to be spinning elaborate webs of intrigue... Tongue

I've never lied and I've never sworn.

Fuck, wait a minute!

I have to lie; I can't do my job without doing so. The parameters I'm given to work within are literally impossible to adhere to.
I don't enjoy it, but it is what it is. I don't lose any sleep over it.

The big picture's what matters.

In everyday life, I have no issue with telling a white lie in order to spare someone's feelings at times. I see no point in destroying someone, or creating chaos and havoc in order to preserve my sense of honesty over trivial matters.
