What the fuck is wrong with those people? I'm surprised the condemned aren't strapped to rockets and blown up in low orbit or forced to run a gantlet of oncoming trains.
A simple collar with two nubs that block the carotid arteries is cheap, effective, humane and mess-less. Person passes out and never wakes up. Simple dimple.

Nope, not an option. Isn't that just a hanging with no drop to snap the neck? Filled with the struggle/fight to get the device off? Yeah, that should go over well. Plus, they might have a pleasurable NDE while on the way to a DE.
Lethal injection should be eliminated as an option. The attempt to make the execution process all warm and fuzzy is not working.
I'm OK with bullet/projectile. Instant.

I think the death penalty should only be used in circumstances where there is proof that the person is 100% guilty, so I can see it from the point of view of those saying too many innocents are dying too. I am also of the opinion that lethal injection should be scrapped altogether, bullets are cheap and effective enough to do the job and probably less painful.
Capital punishment was unfortunately abolished here in 1965 (1973 in Northern Ireland) for murder, and although unused, I think it remained a punishment for certain offences such as treason before being completely abolished in 1998. It should be brought back but there's absolutely no chance of that happening now.

Nope, you can do the same thing with two fingers, you will pass out.....don't do it. It doesn't break the neck by dropping the bodies weight from the head nor does it restrict breathing. They just go quietly into the night. But it sounds like you don't want them to go quietly.

I don't even know why it matters -how- we kill a person if we're determined to kill them. May as well sell tickets to the family of the victim for 5 minutes with a machete. At last, then, it would be transparent...and we could recoup some of the cost.

No reason to be cruel and uncivilized, we've got this shit down to an industrial science.
So you feel Justice should be served with a side of exploitation and mob rule for dessert?

OK, lets say you don't want to die but the state says you must. They put this nice collar on your neck that will tighten, you know it will cause your death but not immediately. You're telling me that you are not going to struggle, twist, tighten your neck muscles, do anything you can think of to make it stop? There is nothing quiet about that.
Let's see, the time it takes anoxia to eliminate you brain function while you struggle or the time it takes a projectile to eliminate your brain function. Which seems the more humane?

Why should those lives end when they were innocent and he gets three meals a day, a roof over his head, and access to bettering himself through school and working while locked up? Who cares if he is locked up for life when he still has a life? The family members of those he killed will never get back their loved ones and sitting in a cell is no compensation for lives lost.
As Rhythm pointed out there is no such thing as 100% when it comes to humans and justice. Hell, that's the standard we try to have right now, and that certainly hasn't stopped the innocent from being executed. As long as you have the death penalty implemented, you run the risk of killing someone who wasn't guilty.
So, which is more important? Getting revenge on a killer or just letting them rot in prison to ensure that no innocent person is executed?

No reason to be cruel and uncivilized, we've got this shit down to an industrial science. -agreed, there's no reason to be cruel or uncivilized..but, again, if we're determined to be so anyway........

Isn't it already? The death penalty is just a prop in our "tough on crime" political theater. It serves no other purpose. All you have to do to belly yourself up to the trough is pick a wedge issue and babble loudly and often.

I think what he's saying is that if we're going to execute people, we should just drop the pretense that we're not barbarians going for an eye for an eye.
Let's not pretend that using lethal injection is for the benefit of the convicted.

Most of all it would show how determined they really are if noone else is doing their dirty work.
