A couple years ago, in college, I met a girl who almost never wore shoes. And, no, she wasn't the girl in the photo. She seemed to like me, and she was the only girl my age I've met who actually reacted positively to my complimenting her feet, but it was not to be, and, as soon as I told her I wanted to be her boyfriend, she said two words that guaranteed that would never happen. I don't hold much ill will against her. I even told her that if she ever found Ms. Right, I'd perform the ceremony myself. She has not taken me up on my offer.
