I can see what he means in regards to your posts in this thread, but don't recall any others outside of that.
I think most of the tension on AF is usually due to atheist vs theist debates. But since the election happened, I feel there's been more atheist vs atheist tension than usual, especially among people who normally get along just fine. We're not used to seeing that, so it's just making people come off as grumpier and more argumentative than usual.
That's my theory, anyway.
WELL, YOU CAN TAKE YOUR SO-CALLED THEORY AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR THEIST ASS!!!!!!!!

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Jesus Christ, you give one guy a little bit of shit and suddenly people are telling you that you have a bug up your ass.
Am I going mental, or am I not on the right forum?
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I just said I see what he means, meaning I see what he's referring to. I personally wouldn't have told you that you have anything up your butt.
Like I said, I think it's just because we're not as used to seeing a lot of atheist vs atheist drama unless it has to do with EP or Aractus or something.

You obviously see something different than me. It's mostly atheist vs atheist. This isn't some kind of community based on disbelief but on individual values. There's always atheist vs atheist going on and I can safely say I dislike as many atheists here as I dislike theists. And I certainly never made a secret about it.

It could just be my own perception then. But it seems like most threads don't get super heated unless there is a theist involved.

Depends on the thread. I don't look at the religious threads as much, since they tend to move in circles anyway and are usually about the same old, same old. I more or less confine myself to political and off topic, so the perception may be different. Suffice to say I don't judge people by their belief or disbelief, I only judge them on their values or the absence thereoff. Nationalists and bigots come from both sides, so I don't play favorites just because someone happens to disbelieve too.
Well, there's always the guy barging in all bibles blazing. But these aren't the ones really interesting me in one way or the other.
