They won't be "removing" it. The UK will still be forced to peddle it's wares to the EU (theres no such thing as taking their ball and going elsewhere...as much as brexiters wish there were). The UK will -still- have to purchase from EU nations as well. All that changes from the EU perspective is that the UK will no longer enjoy sweetheart trade. The relative losses on this one are completely one-sided.
The "traitors" know that, and have indicated that they would block a brexit that didn't include access to the common market...while EU negotiators have told them that there would be no such negotiations -until- brexit is officially triggered.....and their negotiators aren't exactly UK friendly at this point. They've also indicated that there is no such thing as a hard or soft brexit, only a brexit. That they will not get the rights and benefits of EU nations without assuming the responsibilities. IMO, this entire thing is ludicrous, not just the decision to leave, but the pie in the sky shit people are now angling for -in- leaving.

I didn't say they would be removing it. I said removing it from direct and unrestricted input into [the] free market.
The statement was that "The EU doesn't really need the UK". Demonstrably untrue. There are jobs, businesses and a myriad of other financial factors within the EU that will be directly negatively affected by almost any sort of Brexit. There already are, and it will continue until whatever is to be resolved is resolved. You only need look at the supply chain of any medium or even SME sized business that operates through the EU from the UK and vise versa to see it. I can only use a PLC 250 index company as a benchmark but I've seen the results directly already.
But I agree on the ludicrousness of it all. It is ludicrous, the entire thing is so pointless.

I think you're missing the thrust of the statement, that the eu doesn't need the uk -in the eu-. OFC eu businesses that rely on the uk will be affected. OFC the eu wants things to continue as they've been - they've said as much more than once.
Both statements can be (and are) simultaneously true, which is why the truth of one does not demonstrate that the other is untrue......I did a great little workup on this....idk, months ago, comparing the relative productive and economic values of each member nation (even comparing them to our states...since eu member nations and us states have rough economic parity, lol - to bring it home to usians...lol) and what seccession would mean in relative context.

Nobody said 'within the EU'. And besides, those businesses that rely on the UK being in the EU do require just that. Not everyone will be able to absorb what will be a considerable direct and indirect (unknown) cost to exit. People in the EU and the UK will lose out regardless of where the UK 'sits'. They already are.
I'll leave you all to it. I'm not interested in contributing further.

Pretty sure that was -strongly- implied in the context of the conversation...regarding brexit..........? I say strongly implied but I actually mean glaringly obvious.

I haven't read the entire thread/conversation. I only started from that post from Tazzycorn and took it face value.
Why do you have to be a dick about it? Any why is this forum replete with them these days? I don't know why I fucking bother with this place sometimes.

I'm a dick, because you didn't read the thread? Cmon man, I put a winky in there and everything. Friendly ribbing, friendly ribbing.
(as to eu businesses with uk supply chains - they'll be less competitive, sure..horrible for people who work at those businesses, great for their competitors who have eu supply chains...and their employees. One mans loss, and all that jazz.)

Which won't happen, unless the UK subscribes to the 4 freedoms. Which would make the Brexit redundant. It can't happen if the EU leaders still have some brains left. If they were to grant Brexit without any penalty involved, they would make their own bed, as in aiding and abetting their own nationalists. It would be an insane move to grant the UK any more privileges as - just to pick one random example - Micronesia.
Sure, there will be deals. But not in the form the wet dreamers in the UK imagine.

The negotiators that the EU has put forward in anticipation of brexit have already said as much, in no uncertain terms. You want the rights, you assume the responsibilities.
