I loved the video, as I find pretty much all animal behavior fascinating, except that one video where a monkey rapes a frog. That was fucking repulsive. The ape actually was being quite gentle in a that guy from Of Mice and Men kind of way, which is cool. I'm not entirely sure it was helping. I think it was just finding something to play with, but how it went about it was pretty neat.

Darwinian, I am with you. I kept thinking that as soon as the tape stopped rolling, it went "ape shit" and broke the bird's neck.

As for animals helping other animals, we are 100% sure that this happens. Dolphins help people and other mammals. I just watched a video of a turtle pushing over another turtle that was stuck on its back. Compassion is not merely a human feeling. We would know more about it if so many people did not choose to ignore it.
