I hated the last "modernized" star wars movie. Everything was shit and I'm 1000% sure the new one will be the same.

Confucius say "for he who has shit seeing eyes, everything is shit".  I'd get that looked at, try some eye drops?

If it is geared toward a grittier grown up audience, wouldn't they have picked a more mature heroine than a teen queen?

Also, wuld every teenage female Star Wars character from now on always come naturally equipped with stupendous natural talent that allow them to out duel sith apprentice, lead covert missions to get the empire's most important secrets,  or kill dozens of imperial storm troopers with one blaster shot, all without any significant prior training?

The trailers implies she is a misfit, picked off the street by the rebel alliance and entrusted with stealing the empire's deepest secret on a mission so important the only two good movies of the franchise had depended on it for 39 years.  

She's not just a random misfit, her father constructed the death star weapon...

So essentially the blue prints are in her DNA?  Brilliant!  I'm definitely going.

A former Jedi named Count Dooku cuts off Anakin’s arm. (George Lucas has a bizarre preoccupation with severed limbs.) A robot-armed Anakin marries Padme in secret.

The notion that being the daughter of a presumably engineer type weapons designer makes her preternaturally good at commando style infiltration and intelligence smash and grab missions seems to be very similar in credibility to that of being a junk collector with mysterious and presumably Jedi related parentage would implicitly make Rey preternaturally awesome in lightsaber fights.

So I finally realized this isn't the eighth story in the Star Wars saga but rather the first of probably many spinoffs. Ahh well. Pity but it will do.
