It's particularly confusing because a lot of magic occurs in the bible, much of it done by favored persons, from the prophets foretelling the future through prophetic visions, to Jesus' litany of miracles, water to wine, the loaves and fishes, healing the sick, raising the dead, driving demons into swine, and so on. It seems to be a matter of do as we say, not as we do.

I'm not sure, so I can only speculate.
Is it an assumption that it's all real, but it's the "wrong kind of magic", so it's evil? Or is it a fear of the religious woo being compared to other nonsense and becoming exposed? I never understand why God stands by and watches Satan dick around with everything. Things would be so different if I was in charge. So much better. Everyone would be happier, I guaran-damn-tee it. I'm not saying I'm superior to God. I'm saying I'm hugely superior, and he is a horrible piece of shit. Feel free to send me a private message.
