Have you read any Schopenhauer yet? At any rate, there's two major compilations in print with quite a lot of overlap: The Essential Schopenhauer and Essays and Aphorisms, and I personally prefer Schopenhauer to Nietzsche.

Oof. Careful with Nietzsche there. Best to have a grounding in Hegel and Schopenhauer before you go spelunking in that cave.


I haven't read Hegel nor Schopenhauer. I'll have to look into them. I have heard many people say that Nietzsche can be a dangerous one to read at my age, and I don't understand why.

Well, he went off the deep end ultimately, but even reserving that point, it is good to have a grounding to see what he was reacting against. Reading Marx along in there, might help too.

Yes it looks queer, but it actually has a lot of very good info in it. It outlines alot about the earliest periods of life on planet earth. Something which I'm very interested in lately Big Grin
