No, I don't know much about the whole anti Vax fad.
I see what you're saying.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Put it this way: any time the government puts someone who opposes something in charge of investigating that thing, you should be concerned. There is a reason why independent studies are more trustworthy, because they aim to start with the facts and draw a conclusion, rather than the reverse. This is especially important when those studies are used to back up policy changes in government. We've seen time and time again what happens when the government acts on bad information; people suffer and people die.

The anti Vax crowd is proof that it's not just conservatives who can fall for anti science.
As to calling for a gov't "investigation" into vaccines... there is no need. They have been studied for decades and have been proven safe and effective. They also continue to be studied even if the govt doesn't step in. Do we need a govt study into relativity, or evolution or germ theory, of flat earth theory??
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.
