You do realize you believe in 'magic' to a greater degree right? In your case you believe everything appeared out of nothing...

Speaking things into existence is an incantation. Magic by definition.
I am John Cena's hip-hop album.

My theory as to the beginning of the Universe is as follows. Some thirteen to fourteen 'billion' years ago, the Universe began.

Any use to you?

Sounds pretty magical to me...

Panic

Are you seriously suggesting the Universe didn't begin?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

No, what I'm saying is that trying to pretend that the universe having a creator is somehow more ridiculous than the universe creating itself is kinda delusional...

The difference is that saying "the universe created itself" is not what he said. His implication is that the universe started by some as yet unknown natural process whereas theists not only believe that it was not a natural process but some magical figure that somehow poofed the universe into existence by some undetermined way and for some reason hates the gays.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Read again, Huggy. I said that in the beginning, the Universe began to exist. That is all I said on that point, and apparently you agree with it. I made no comment as to how it happened, or what made it happen (if anything), whereas you said that this beginning sounds like magic to you. Meanwhile, you literally believe that a magic fairy uttered an incantation to make it happen. So quit projecting onto me.

Not really. One just adds an extra magic genie step that of course created itself.

Incidentally, I'm flattered I'm in your "saved for future reference" file, Huggy. It's a bit of an anal thing to have going for you, but I'm not going to take that away.

Don't flatter yourself, your quote (which was posted before I joined the site) took all of 30 seconds to find using the search feature.

That you took the time to bother doing that is what's flattering.

You can't refer to it as a 'natural' process if the process is unknown, you assume the process to be natural, yet there are absolutely no examples of nature producing anything from nothing.

This would be in violation of the law of Conservation of Energy/ mass

What you describe falls in the realm of supernatural... in other words, magic.
