Morals are a human concept. They change over time and region. Do you have anything tangible? Truth is based on certain presuppositions, such as the logical absolutes. We don't need a god for this. 2. If you said that we needed God for absolute certainty, then I might accept your argument (and that's a big might), but no one has demonstrated that absolute certainty exists, and I don't even think it's possible. 3. Morals can be justified, but ultimately morals are a human construct. Morals have changed over the years and they will continue to change. Absolute morality is a demonstrably false concept. The rest is too incoherent to refute.

Mystic, seriously, I don't know what you mean by that sentence, but if you are having problems with depression, I have them too, and it does not help now that I have lost my mother. But please don't hurt yourself. We can also talk to you about non religious things to help you cope with any personal problems in your life. That is what I am doing to cope with the death of my mother. RE: inheriting actions argument!

That is what I am doing to cope with the death of my mother. Yea but it is a disturbing sentence that depressed people make right before they do something to themselves or others. If that is not what you mean, please say so. Humans all over the world, including me have ups and downs in life. We do appreciate empathy and compassion too, even if we think your claims are not true and yes, we can be quite blunt about it. But we are also concerned with our fellow human regardless. My mom's friends are all Christians, and all of them knew how close I was to her and without exception all of them express concern about my mental well being. Even my atheists friends have as well. It is ok to feel down and depression is something many humans, including me go their entire lives coping with. It does not make you weak to lean on others when you feel bad. We do care about you. We do appreciate that you have not screamed at us like we deserve to be in prison or dead. You don't think in terms of tribalism even though we don't agree your god exists. But do yourself a favor, if you are feeling bad, find help, talk to friends outside of this board so you don't have to add more needless stress to yourself. Come back when you feel better. It is ok to take a break. But do let us know how you are doing. There are times in life where all the bitching should be put aside, that sentence needs clarification right now so that we know you'll be ok. Are you mentally ok right now? If my parents were Atheists, I would love them and be close to them as well. (March 19, 2017 at 11:59 am)MysticKnight Wrote:(March 19, 2017 at 11:58 am)Brian37 Wrote: Are you mentally ok right now? Good. Try not to plop a farewell sentence like that on people like that. If you need to take a break and you are not thinking about calling it quits with your life, you need to make that clear and simple say "I need a break from this board". We promise we will be here and if you need anyone here to talk to you about non religious personal problems many here will be willing to do that. I can tell you several people here helped me through this past month. Stay safe and try to keep in mind, you can make it and don't be afraid to lean on others if you need to. You want to believe your arguments prove god, but they aren't even fully formed which makes it difficult to tell what you're trying to get at.
