You better bring your best lawyer, I have about $40 to defend myself.

The thing is, if you are bantering and joking, then I have no issues. Here, it is difficult for me to discern whether you're joking about plagiarising my website and selling my novels or not. It's impossible for me to tell if you're telling the truth.
The problem is that I'd have to spend a lot of money hiring a lawyer and all goes wasted if you're simply joking. It's best to confirm if what you're telling earlier is a truth or joke - can you do that? Just confirming here will help save my time and money and will not leave me unnecessarily distressed that can have a huge impact on my work/study and daily performance.

I'm not sure that works. Just to make things easier and more convenient and give me peace of mind, can you not confirm now if you're all joking?
