Whoa mate, you're quoting from the Old Testament, but if God wanted us to stick with it he wouldn't have sent Jesus to give us the New T would he?
Jesus was quite specific that "Whoever comes to me I'll never turn away"..Smile

Jesus didn't give us the NT.  He didn't write anything down.  No tales were written until 70 years after he died.
And in Matthew 5, after the Beatitudes, he clearly states that he has not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it.  Not one jot or tiddle of the law would pass away before the ending of heaven and earth.  And in Jesus' time, the law was the Pentateuch, the Torah, the first 5 books of the OT that contains all of those pesky laws that Christians say don't apply to them anymore - except for the ones they want to keep to bash others with, those are ok.

Oh, and btw, Jesus is supposedly not Joseph's son.  So he was a "bitched".  YHWH definitely didn't show up in person to claim him.  Mary wasn't married to Joseph when YHWH supposedly raped her.  Jesus was a bastard.

Ephesians 6:5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Paul wrote that too. And he wrote it to Christians. So apparently even in the body of Christ there can be slaves.

1 Timothy 2:12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.

Paul clearly thinks there are still genders and gender roles here. So I don't think the verse you are quoting means what you think it means. And yeah, these verses seem pretty backwards to me considering we no longer own slaves and women are allowed into authority positions.

Telling people that they should be more committed to a cult leader than their own personal identity isn't progressive or forward-thinking

Inkfeather132 quote- Ephesians 6:5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ

Firstly, the word 'servant' translated from Greek is 'doulos' and can mean either a slave, servant, or bond-servant (similar to indentured servant).
Secondly, Paul listed slave-traders among bad hombres-
"..law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers......for slave traders....." (1 Tim 1:9)

And Moses bust an Egyptian slave-drivers ass- "He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand" (Exodus 2:11)

Paul was quite clear that people should follow Jesus and not him, which speaks volumes for Paul's decency and credibility..Smile

And yet, it is translated as slave. In both verses. Are you saying it was translated wrong? What else in the Bible is translated wrong?
Of course Moses did that, the Old Testament law says that Hebrews are not to be kept as slaves. It's people from the nations around them that they can keep as slaves. I'm noticing that you didn't respond to my point about genders though, Paul's words clearly show that he believes women are to be subordinate (not equal) to men.

Well that was common central theme in mystery cults at the time. They were all centered on an intercessory savior deity, a son of god (or occasionally a daughter of god), literally called the Soter, "The Savior" (which is what Yeshua means in Hebrew and what is essentially the meaning of the word "Jesus").

If you look at "Soter" article at wikipedia you can see that many gods, before invention of Jesus, held that title:  Poseidon Soter, Zeus Soter, Dionysus Soter, Apollo Soter, Athena Soteria, Asclepius Soteri, and Hecate Soteria. And even real historical people: Ptolemy I Soter, Antiochus I Soter and many more.

Each savior had gained victory over death for their followers by suffering through some kind of sacrifice, ordeal or trial, called a "passion". For some, this "passion" was their death and resurrection (e.g., Osiris); for others, some kind of terrible labor defeating the forces of death (e.g., Mithras), or variations thereof.

But of course these had nothing to do with Jesus. These were just coincidences, cuz Jiz was real Soter.

Actually there were hundreds of books, but they didn't fit editors taste at Nicaea. And then Zealots say that they didn't create Jesus at Nicaea. Pfff. They just looked over hundreds of books describing Jesus in all sorts of ways and decided which one they liked. I mean how are they inventing Jesus? Will you stop with your retarded theories already atheists?!

Good try but you don't know shit.

3.  Do you know when Yeshua became Jesus?

If the letter J wasn't invented until 1600, how did Jesus get his name 2013 years ago?

Timothy - and the other so-called pastorals - are frauds.  Even jesus freaks separate them from the allegedly "authentic" epistles.... which as I define the world are not all that authentic themselves.

It's not so much Paul is backwards, it's that he is committing heresy.

He was never authorized to countermand Jesus.  Jesus would have (and did !) simply uttered His doctrine correctly in the first place, obviating any need for Paul to change anything.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
