Howdy, I"m sure you'll get along with Atlas nicely.

So far I've learned these atheist blokes are friendly and funny whereas the theist lot (My ilk not included) seem to be very angry and bitter.

We have another Muslim here named Atlass33. He is a nice guy, puts up with our raking his claims over the coals, but just his claims, not him.

Basically there is not much you need to know.

1. We are diverse, we don't always agree with each other.
2. We come from all classes, we hold a variety of political and economic views, and we have left all the world's major religions. We come in all skin tones.

3. "Atheist" merely means "off" on God/god/s/deity claims, nothing more. We don't eat babies or barbecue kittens. If you want to know what an atheist thinks about a topic, don't assume we all believe the same thing, ask the individual.

One thing i have come to understand, particularly with respect to atheists (who i have been around for a very long time) is that no two atheists are the same. While there are similarities, common points of references generally speaking, they are a more diverse group than any other.

Furthermore, even though they may not believe in objective morality, or certain theistic conceptions of what is moral or not, it does not necessarily mean they do not have a moral compass; i believe morality to a certain extent is part of the nature of a human - though you may argue we have evolved to have some of these moral traits as it is advantageous to our survival.

I don't believe in any god or gods. That is all about it really.

Welcome to the boards. And peace be upon you too.

I get very blunt myself, but rest assured at least with me, it is not you the person I am going after, but merely your claims. I make other atheists here angry too so don't feel like I am singling you out.

But this is an introduction thread so better things to do here is say hi, ask questions about where you are from or where we live. What music, tv sports ect, blood sample, sign over your first born, (just kidding). We can leave the verbal ONLY, boxing to another thread.

This atheist has to go make some coffee and throw a virgin in a volcano.  Shy

Welcome Woof.

I don't know about "fruitful", would you be content with "nut filled"?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

We don't?

What?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
