I was reading Savages column in the local weekly when he held the Santorum naming contest. Very funny! Good advice column too!
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

But then of course he's got the cumbersome difficulty of explaining away mythical figures like Methuselah and Noah who lived to be over 500 each.

Yes, but you see I was there. So he's either got to accept my testimony, ask for evidence (which demonstrates an understanding of the burden of proof - a sword which cuts him too), or dismiss me as a crank (which again cuts him just as much). No matter what objection he raises, there's always a rationalisation out of his own playbook to counter it.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

"Well, if it's not in the bible, then it didn't happen." Or, "Well, if the bible says it happened differently, then it's the bible that's right, and science is wrong."
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

That's more like it.

"God said it - I believe it - that settles it".

Then again, this is the same Ken Ham who said that the bible doesn't say that Noah and co didn't use modern technology, so they might have done, therefore they did.

A recent Kentucky Supreme Court ruling will for Ken Ham to follow "Truth in Advertising" laws for that state. As a result Ham has announced he will comply and is renaming his museum "Answers in Ignorance."

This is why there need to be stricter fucking definitions on what constitutes evidence. Assholes like RoadRunner wanting testimony to be put on the highest tier are making it possible for bullshit like this to pass through when they ought to be aborted from the tiny minds of their creators via experimental surgery.

Magic book doesn't say it -wasn't- a multitier reinforced concrete mesh pylon supported structure with a wooden facade.  You can't prove it wasn't, were you there?

Or with a workforce of thousands. Just curious, did they even bother building it out of the same kind of wood that would have been available that long ago in a place I don't really imagine there being a lot of trees?
