Girls are just human mate, relax and trust your instincts. And ferfucksake don't follow the advice of self-proclaimed "pickup artists". You'll be fine.
If you have any serious concerns, are being harassed, or just need someone to talk to, feel free to contact me via PM (September 2, 2017 at 1:05 pm)Catholic_Lady Wrote:(September 2, 2017 at 5:22 am)ignoramus Wrote: Too many variables to make that conclusion CL, at this early stage (for me). Hints? Hell I'm never sure what they mean when they say no. Is that just coy for "do me now, sailor" or is that just the little voice in my head? Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
To the OP, the reason I took an interest in this post is that I see similarities in you in the way I behaved when I was a teen and in my early 20s. It is normal to find attraction in others, if our species didn't do that we would not evolve. But you are an adult, don't call it a crush, that is something you have as a pre teen or have for a celebrity you will never meet but like.
Just because you are attracted to her does not mean she is obligated to be attracted to you. My mistake was that I confused mere attraction with romance and stupidly thought "If I just prove to her". That is not the way it works. Don't set out to prove anything to her. Don't buy her flowers don't ask for her phone number don't give her yours. Those things come after time weeks or even months. Keep your conversations casual and maybe next week or so, don't ask her out, but maybe tell her you are going to the local cafeteria and say you are welcome to hang out. If she says no, it may be she has plans or maybe she really isn't interested. Don't make it sound like a date.
You did well. But she doesn't seem particularly interested. Might become later when you get to know her, though. Cheer up bud, you're getting more action than me

Cheer up bud, you're getting more action than me Me too, I haven't gotten any since 2001. But then again, I am also 50, been through the rejection, the dating and marriage. Relationships are work, I think romance is way overrated. Relationships are when your other is sick in bed, or had a bad day at work and snaps at you. Glass slipper sappy crap isn't reality. I don't mind romance, but once the New Car dealership excitement is over, you have to check the tires, get the oil and belts changed and keep gas in it. Love isn't in flowers. The real work is in communication skills in problem solving and consent, compromise and even knowing when it isn't going to work out.
Wow! This really opened my eyes guys, thank you!

Great, because we don't want to see you in the news with your neighbor saying, "He seemed so normal." I'm kidding, but yea, I did see myself and my own insecurities in your OP. It really is as simple as she will like you or not, and if she doesn't there are more women out there. Take your time, the worst you get is a no, or a mere friend. "No" is not a death sentence or the end of the world, not even divorce is the end of the world, and I have been through that too. |
