Terry Pratchett said it best:
Quote:I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs, a very endearing sight, I'm sure you'll agree. And even as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged onto a half submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters, who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature's wonders, gentlemen. Mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that is when I first learned about evil. It is built into the very nature of the universe. Every world spins in pain. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior.

You think that the instigators of both civil wars were secular? More fool you.

No; they happened for religious reasons!
Quote:Britain, France, Ireland and Russia were part of an alliance called the Triple Entente, while Germany aligned itself with Austria-Hungary – known as the Central Powers. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo on 28th June 1914, it triggered a chain of events that resulted in World War 1.
The Triple Entente was always a Muslim; a crazy dude like me; praying to floors and believing in magic despite him saying that he doesn't !
Even Archduke was a Jew; his assasination took place while celebrating Hanukkah !
You don't understand. The answer is always religion:
Why did WW1 happen?
Religion !
Why did WW2 happen?
Religion !
So Archduke had no relationship?
No no; it was Religion !
Peter Pan was religious !
The Vegas shooter is religious !
Bankers are religious !
Don't you notice that religion is being used as a scapegoat by atheists all the time ?
BTW it's seculars who own, manufacture and use atomic bombs; not the religious.

So, in truth, due to God's innate unfalsifiability it is logically impossible to find out that God exists even if God does exist.

Atlas, stop being such a petulant wanker. You can make your case without throwing a tantrum.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

This made me a little angry

Well I am not quite sure of the lie in my words. Einstein accepted that world wide global thermonuclear war would be a shattering experience. My indication of mild hyperbole referred to the the fact that any sad survivors, whilst reduced to an earlier society, would still be early humans with some of that knowledge.
I also don't like being called a liar. I was not referring to a quote, just my impression of my memory of his words.
If I was wrong, that's not lying, just my mistake.

JR, nobody is calling you personally a liar, but I was referring to you standing in the side of a biased opinion that is based on a lie.
It might not even be yours.
Einstein warned that WW3 would be so destructive, it would reduce civilization back to the stone age, but it's not civilization alone that we need to worry about; you also have changes to the planet that I don't think Einstein thought about wisely enough.
Atomic bombs are dirty as hell. You have the nuclear winters, the radiations, the ozone layer...etc. So much variables that a single one can warn of such devastation. A nuke warns of them all.
It's apocalypse. And if anybody remained; they'll have to suffer from radiations and nuclear winter and climate changes, that would reduce humanity to zero.

What kind of god says "I'm going to punish you for having sexual relations with someone of the same sex, because I really care about that shit for some reason.' Evil prick incarnate.
I agree that some religious people do that.
But in many cases; traits like "greatness", "infinite lifespan", "pureness","strength"...etc are quite hated by atheists.
Because they're pretty much meaningless in a religious context.

Speaking of dirty bombs.....
The deathtoll from the two uses of nukes in human history is somewhere between 150-250k. The consequence of their being used twice was the global realization that they should never be used again.
The deathtoll from having wielded our various religions as a weapon is immeasurably more vast...and to this day people still seem to think that their religion is a fantastic idea.
What terrifies me, personally, is a confluence of the two. When those who wish for apocalypse acquire apocalyptic weapons. As a sidenote, I have absolutely no patience with an islamist who complains about ww2 or the atomic bombs. The Umma went all in with the Nazis, and to this day they call for the destruction of the jew, lol.
