God is unknowable, we cannot know the mind of god, god is beyond human comprehension. Really! So what the fuck are the preachers speaking from the pulpit raving about?
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

There aren't any religious claims that get under my skin.

God is unknowable, except for the things written in a specific book, which just happen to coincide with what a certain sect of ancient Jews were doing.

1. I'm so special that God almighty, creator of the universe allows me to have a personal relationship with him.

2. We are all scumbags who need to be forgiven for being scumbags, and be grateful for a disgusting sacrifice.

3. Hitler was an atheist.

Pretty much anything that comes out of their mouths about their invisible friend in the sky pisses me off.

You do understand that's a nailable offense stigmata boy.

That reminds of another me, "This inanimate object holds god within it and deserves your worship.".

But there is one theist thing that will get me frankly irrationaly mad. And that is the pre-suppositonalists  of the Sye Ten Bruggencate type of thiing.

It isn't the religious claims per se, those I can gladly deal with. It is the claim that they know better what I "truly" believe behind it all that really raises my hackles.

Contributions and heckles welcome. Have at it.

I laugh when all debates eventually lead to '' you have to have the holy spirit to understand this scripture' or 'god's ways are not our ways' when it has a clear normal meaning that creates problems for the theist, or you 'have to understand it in context' when context is not really relevant and what's more they can't provide a coherent context.

I've had many people say that to me, I tell them to go ahead if it pleases them, or they feel so led but i ask them to check back with me to see if it has made a difference.
