"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I am a doctor training to be a neurologist
I am an atheist
My hobbies are gymming,guitar playing,reading science books,painting
My weaknesses are low self esteem and pessimissm and I suffer from clinical depression. So I do get into existential crises death related thoughts and ideas multiple times.
I have researched religions spirituality paranormal stuff and at first i believed them but later in college i started to come across richard dawkins james randi stephen hawkins bill nye etc and started demolishing my previous beliefs and became an atheist
Please help me overcome my weaknesses and help me be a strong mature and sensible atheist.I need your support and inspiration.
Thanks
How can we do that here online? What you need is a professional (face to face) to help you out with your feelings and experiences. Someone who has a specialty in dealing with existential crises and such.
What I mean is that as an atheist one doesnt believe in GOD afterlife spirits etc .But we have family and friends whom we care about. So death hurts us and make us wonder what happen to them after death. And we dont have that answer. So its really tough at times to imagine what would happen to them after death and so forth. There is no consoling for an atheist. So how do you cope with the fact of death disappointments injustice etc issues?

I get that, and I'm sure heaps of members here are willing to lend you some support when you need it, but ultimately, this is a serious psychological issue that you need to work it out with a professional therapist, one who especially specializes in existential crises (you will have to look the options up online for the nearest such specialist in India, if available). No, not all atheists struggle with this, because this is a psychological matter more than it is an atheism matter.

I don't think they do a thesis or dissertation for a medical degree unless things are different in India.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Nothing happens. We're all just dead.
And we dont have that answer.
Yeah, we do. Because without a god(s) it's all just a fairy tale.
BTW, welcome. You sound interesting.
