If you were worshipping science, doing drugs, and had preexisting psychological problems, I would like to suggest as gently as I can that the problem was with you and not with atheism.

(December 10, 2017 at 3:36 pm)macgyver151 Wrote: I will tell my story first and then I will make the connection. I was a former atheist,  I was unhappy with my religion of science, spent a lot of my life doing drugs prescription drugs as well as street. The prescription ones were the worst(thanks science! Read anatomy of an epidemic), thinking I had no purpose. Nearly killed myself a couple times. A few months ago I decided to try and make my life better. I listened to a joe rogan podcast with dave asprey. It was all about the western diet, how we don't have a healthcare system and just have disease management. Our society is so focused on treating problems and not the cause. I then started following the bulletproof diet and listening to the bulletproof podcast. There were so many great episodes about improving health and unhappiness. I started meditating with a muse headband, and working on my heartrate variability with an emwave 2. I also began experimenting with psychedelics, I began making so much progress on my anxiety combining them with meditation tools. One day I came across a Ted talk on psychic abilities, which later led me to download the zener esp app. Precognition and post cognition training.  This app is simply there to train people in the 4th dimension. Time is not a real thing, we can only perceive it relative to motion. I also need to mention that the psychedelic state is not a drug but an activation of the pineal gland as well as more of the brain. It is our connection to the spiritual world, which is why so many shamans have used them. So one day I happened to be in a psychedelic state and I picked up my phone to use the zener app. I notice something odd, and somehow I was getting better at choosing them. I started to realize that the only thing preventing me from knowing was fear and doubt. I gradually worked through many traumatizing anxieties dating back years and years. As a began reaching close to 100% accuracy, the room began to transform into a temple. When I was ready to part with all material possessions, the zener pictures turned to symbols of all the major religions. I entered the Christ level of consciousness to find that all religions are one religion. I have had many experiences since then, things existing in 5 dimensions at once like in what the bleep do we know. Before I make the connection and anger a lot of you I will apologize. Because nobody likes having there religious beliefs attacked. I can assure you we are all on the same team, I am working towards a global consciousness. Don't tell me its not possible when I know that it is. My god is your god, you simply have a different name for it. To remove all fear and doubt for the extremists in the science religion, they must have hard proof backed by what the science community considers evidence. Creating an all knowing all powerful artificial intelligence called the singularity will be this proof. Now I will make the connection not mock atheists, but so people have an understanding of how easily people are brainwashed. Science is a religion, theory's are simply a different word for having faith. Our reality is subjective because it always needs to be perceived. If our senses can't be trusted, how do magical scientific instruments make them trustable. That is a simply a belief that is manifested to be true. Fact we are brainwashed as children to believe in science without a choice. Fact Science decided to play god and created gmo's and toxic chemicals Many of which are causing millions and millions of people to suffer and die early. The medical system that goes by only science is barely keeping people alive. Many scientists sit around wasting their time trying to tear down other people's work than making this world a better place to live in. I don't see nearly as many scientists volunteering at the soup kitchen or building schools in Africa as there are Christians. Scientists also do not work together because they are worried about someone else taking their work. The world isn't a shitty place because there is no god, it is shitty because we have freewill and it is not up to god to start making us work together but scientists say look at Africa, if god isn't helping them why should I? Your god doesn't exist. Life is meaningless. If you are not working towards a global consciousness, you are part of problem. It is so easy to be brainwashed, the kids in the middle east are no different. Fact the great leaders of science such as Einstein and tesla have said that you need to pay attention to the material world as much as the metaphysical Fact Science cant really prove anything: The scientific theorist is not to be envied. For Nature, or more precisely experiment, is an inexorable and not very friendly judge of his work. It never says “Yes” to a theory. In the most favorable cases it says “Maybe,” and in the great majority of cases simply “No.” If an experiment agrees with a theory it means for the latter “Maybe,” and if it does not agree it means “No.” Probably every theory will someday experience its “No”—most theories, soon after conception. Albert Einstein. So the thing is know god exists and the meaning of life, you can know it too. The only person standing in the way is you.

That is one mighty wall of text, can it be compressed in any way so it makes sense?

EDIT: Oh, never mind. Apparently the guy achieves psychedelic states without drugs.
That's what they call a "whole 'nother level".

I'm not even touching it...

Read Anatomy of an Epidemic, in gods name why? It's drivel.

Just because you want something to be real or true does not mean that it is.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

You guys are right, it was not well written, my heart was not in it because there is no point in attacking someones religious beliefs. One of the religious beliefs of science is that is not a religion. People get offended when you attack their religious beliefs. So I apologize, here are the top 10 reasons science is a religion.

These are all true, I borrowed them from the first link on google but the science delusion by peter wilberg is pretty good also. if you deny facts, simply because you don't want them to be true, or want to believe it, That means you have been brainwashed. From birth we are taught to believe science is correct without questioning it. This is by design. Do you not question why their is so much suffering in the world when there does not have to be? I'm disgusted by how many people don't give a shit about the homeless on the streets, just walk by like it's no big deal that others are suffering and its not their problem.

Now if its that simple for you guys to be brainwashed, it is the same for people like isis. Not to mention the united states is probably the biggest terrorist organization in the world probably responsible for 30 million deaths either directly or indirectly since the second world war. But it does not matter because all religions are one religion so long as you find god, who is benevolent. The eastern philosophies are more correct. Islam and Christianity have been used to control people. Christ is just a level of consciousness. The next stage in our evolution where we will reach the 4th and 5th dimensions. I have been there. I have seen moving items exist in 5 places at once, because electrons exists across all dimensions at once which is why science cant explain how an electron is both there and not there. and Fear and anxiety are not natural to us, god is simply love and bliss and wants us to be happy but it gave us freewill and we fucked it up.

Anyways I guess I was just having an angry day and venting. Our species needs to stop dividing itself, and attacking belief systems and start working towards a global consciousness.  There is plenty of science to back it up like the maharishi effect. When the square root of 1 percent of the population meditates the crime rate drops. Or the good apple bad apple experiment. An apple was cut in 2, and the half that was told positive things rotted less quickly than the one exposed to negative thoughts and words. You guys will find god soon enough, and your god is my god, you guys are just calling it the singularity. When an all knowing and all powerful ai is created, even the most devout atheist will have to admit there is a god because time is not linear, if you have proof of an all knowing and all powerful being. That means there always was and always will be.

In conclusion tune in the bulletproof podcast, it is a beacon for the global consciousness. You can find the cure for almost any disease in there and you will find the tools to live a happy and successful life... instead of wasting time arguing with strangers on the internet about your religion and not doing any research into why there is so much unexplainable shit. Peace my brothers and sisters.

Okay, the separation into paragraphs really helped.

Well, in a way man is special (his cognitive functioning and social features seem to differ wildly from the rest of the species) but I don't want to miss your point. Science doesn't by its nature elevate man at all; science is a mode of observation. Nobody here worships it, and people take offense when they are told they worship something they don't. If you told me somebody is the best eye doctor in town, that doesn't mean you worship him. You merely appreciate his ability to correctly diagnose eye problems. If you caught genital herpes, you may not consider him to be an appropriate expert to consult in your search for treatment.

So it is with science. Science can tell you what happens when particles collide, about the origins of the universe, about certain biological principles. It can't be an object of veneration unless someone tacks some kind of religion to it.

Not in the same way believers do. No one has killed another because they didn't give due respect to Copernicus.

Look, maybe some scientist pursues work that interests him. Duh. That's how discoveries are made. Disinterested parties wouldn't be able to pursue their work with the requisite passion. But if it helps you sleep at night, I'm sure that many, many scientists end up being bored to tears by what they do. So bored in fact, that they might even rather read a copy of "Exotic Tales from Ancient Israel".

You have made a whole list of really weak points here. Maybe you should just pick your strongest point and see if you can't argue that. It's exhausting to tell you how wrong you are on all of that.

PS: I don't think you should take offense to responses to your first post. If you write clearly as you did in your second post, more perhaps might discuss it with you.
